“Why does Germantown have something against Christian holidays and traditions,” said conservative activist Justin Johnson.
“Coming on the heels of our GMSD School Board wanting to rename Easter to ‘spring holiday,'” said Kristen New, with the Shelby County Moms for Liberty. “Seeing the pattern, yet?”
The city’s school district drew national headlines when a committee recommended to rename “Good Friday” and “Easter Monday.” A calendar draft showed that both Christian holidays had been designated as “spring holiday.”

Remind these attention-desperate idiots that Christmas is a national holiday. There is no national holiday of “Holiday” (i.e., “Holy Day”)
Ah yes...
The joys of living in a godless communist tyranny...
Busy fingers change the word Passover to ‘Ishtar’, from the original ... Sorry Christians ...’quick like a bunny’ was celebrated thousands of years ago... little leaven messes the whole loaf.
Start screaming about it or you will lose it
Will Germantown start Crucifying Christians or feeding them to Lions next ?
You don’t think that will change?
In a heartbeat if you don’t push back hard..
You didn’t think you would lose monuments and military base names either.
Stay compliant. Lose big.
The issue is how to react to people who pretend to take offense (or worse, who actually take offense) at public celebrations of Christian holidays.
Constant cringing apologies, and changing longstanding conventions and traditions of our people does not seem to be hte correct way to react.
We now have idiots like this Hollywood loser apologizing for wearing a cross.

Actor Julianna Margulies Regrets Wearing a Cross on ‘The Morning Show’
snip
Julianna Margulies currently stars on Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show” as news anchor Laura Peterson, and she told a story about coming to regret letting her character wear a cross on the show. During her costume fitting for the series, the show’s costume designer put a cross necklace around her neck.
“I did not think twice,” Margulies said. “I put the cross on. And then the character became popular. I went in the next season and there in my dressing room was the cross. Because I have started this Holocaust education program for schools since that happened, I have thought…what if Laura Peterson was wearing a Star of David? We don’t have to talk about [her religion]. But what if that character was just wearing a Star of David? Why did i not just say, ‘Hold on, why is that a cross?’”
“On TV, characters are not ever wearing the Star of David,” she continued. “I regret that. I am sorry about that. I am going to be a lot more careful in the future…It’s so easy to put on a cross. Why isn’t it just as easy to put on a Star of David?’
Margulies stressed that she has no issue playing characters of other religions, nor is automatically bothered by non-Jewish actors taking on Jewish roles. As she noted, her “Morning Show” character is a lesbian single woman while Margulies is married to a man and has children.
“Does that mean I can never play a single motherless woman?” she said when asked about Jewish characters only being played by Jewish actors. “It’s a slippery slope. I am 100% on board that I cannot play Black or Asian…but when it comes to religion, I’m on the fence about it. I am an actor. I’m supposed to make the character I play believable. That’s a slippery slope…we’re actors, we are supposed to act. We need to be careful how we tread there.”
“The Morning Show” is currently airing is third season through Nov. 8 on Apple TV+. Margulies is an executive producer on “Jack and Sam,” a documentary about two Holocaust survivors.

“Public space” and “public expense” are specific.
Holiday celebration is general.
That Creche SCOTUS case from Scarsdale settled some of this a few decades ago.
Skokie did this as well.
What about “call to prayer” vs church bells?
NAMBLA holiday displays?
Spaghetti Monster displays?

My old company had a “holiday tree”. So I asked if the Menorah on the front desk was a “holiday candleabra”.
For what it’s worth my kid goes to school in the Germantown Municipal School District. They taught them the dreidel song last year. One of the Jewish girls in the class gave everyone a dreidel.
How’s giving out gifts for Hanukkah not offensive (which it isn’t) but Christmas and Easter are?

People don’t realize that the government, schools, community activities, corporations, and related organizations are creating new holidays, these new designations are becoming permanent nationwide as are the decorations used, and this has been going on for years.
The actual Christian days are being erased and replaced in the younger generations’ minds.
As of the 2020 United States Census, there were 41,333 people, 14,696 households, and 11,682 families residing in the city. White (non-Hispanic) = 34,033 or 82.34%.
All true. Christmas has been fading away into 'Illuminates" light festivals for some time now. Illuminates is an honorary designation that celebrates the 'illumined' or 'enlightened' minds of Western 'elite' practitioners of modern day Mystery Religions. In India such people are worshipped as god-men.
Judging from the Wikipedia entry, it appears this is a white upper middle class community. Probably filled with AWFLs (affluent, white female liberals).
Tennessee has been infested by coastal parasites.
It’s a higher-income suburb of Memphis.
