It’s a troubling sign when our military prioritizes diversity over defense. But sadly, this aligns with the progressive obsession for celebrating “firsts”—be it the first female president or the first cross-dressing, luggage-stealing Department of Energy employee. However, the problem with this unprofessional approach is the shift in focus from the actual job that has to get done to aimlessly promoting a laundry list of social issues. When you lose sight of the primary objective and concentrate on the superficial fluff, your mission is doomed. This is particularly true for the US military, where losing focus can mean death. They nearly learned this lesson the hard way, thanks to a diverse group of Navy women who missed the runway and ended up landing in the water.

FReepers: I did not intend to have that first sentence posted. I am not associated with Revolver and I regret that I didn’t catch it when I posted.
Hoax. Crew pic was from a flight in September, not of the plane crew that ran off the runway.
Several look quite capable of what God intended

“The ladies proved that they can splash a plane as well as anyone else.”
In other words: Take that, Putin!!!
“The ladies proved that they can splash a plane as well as anyone else.”
How do you know the pilots’ gender?
Well, actually, it oceaned. Is oceaned a verb? It should be.
So the identity and makeup of the crew that wet footed the PA-8 is still unknown.

Not just the military
We need a more diverse police force
like these cops

Some are quite capable, others aren't.
The military has to weed out the ones that aren't at whatever fields they have been assigned to and put them in other fields.
Yes
Fake news
Thread discredits this forum
To play the Devil’s advocate, there have been plenty of planes crashed by all male crews. Just sayin.
Its a military secret.
What is needed is crash rates by sex and race. That data will never be published unless it shows what they want. When this incident happened I wondered if it were a female pilot. The military obviously knows.
It doesn’t matter if the crewmembers were diverse or of any demographic. What matters is if they were promoted beyond their abilities because they were diverse and of a certain demographic.
I’ve flown with many good and bad pilots. Race, sex, sexual orientation had nothing to do with it....except the post-op transexual was just an all around nutcase who could not fly and the company was afraid to allow him/her to fail for fear of a lawsuit.

I believe he states that in the article
P-8 should never have been approved from the start. It’s a POS aircraft for the mission. The P-3 was far better versital aircraft and a newer version would have been the better choice.
“...and put them in other fields.”
In some cases, fast food. As long as the military is viewed diverse, then it is made questionably. A woman is no different than a man hitting a runway. A black is no different than a white in running a hundred yards with a 50 pound ruck. A
catholic is no different than a protestent when cooking in the dining facility. But as long as they are seen different it will mean little success and a failure of the entire ball of wax. But it needs to be competent.
So the problem is not the lowest level of the phylum. Don’t get me women who can fly, get me pilots that can do the job. Very simple. I can remember the failure rate of pilots and navs in at-chambers and the funny thing is that the group that was determined to most handle the atmosphere changes in the chambers the best would have been 50 year old women, overweight, that smoked two packs of cigarettes a day. So much for Tom Cruise.

Maybe I missed it, but article does not give the makeup of the crew that splashed the plane.
