“If” we lose power again here in San Antonio this winter, next summer we will have solar cells and a whole-house battery bank. ERCOT has had their shot...if they don’t have it sorted out by now, they all need to be fired.

Odd how this hasn’t been an issue for almost like forever but now it is.

Let’s all run out and buy electric cars and replace our natural gas furnaces with heat pumps. Yea, that’s the ticket.

“expected extreme cold this winter”

That would sort of balance out alleged higher average summer temperatures.

The weather had better follow the prophecies of Rev. Gore come 2025.

I feel certain they’ll successfully shift blame in a direction away from themselves.

In Florida the scam is homeowners insurance.

In Texas, the scam is electricity.

Oh, remember the days when the scam was merely the government.

I pity the fools who don’t know how AOC has revolutionized the electricity grid.
Just plug a space heater into a power strip like the one below, and you’ll be fine.

It is not a risk. It is a plan.

I was in the power industry for over 30 years and I saw this emerging problem many years ago (as have many others). You mix intermittent, unreliable, and non-dispatchable (means you cannot simply say “I need 1,000 more MW now”) supply technologies (wind and solar) that mismatch demand throughout the day, have no energy storage systems in place, add in huge federal financial incentives as well as the “Renewable Portfolio Standards” that push utilities to renewables and you have a pending disaster. You might even get massive cascading outages like the Northeast Blackout of 1965.

Things are a bit better here in Idaho. We live in the midst of a forested area and we regularly get extended outages due to tree falls in high winds. That, combined with the green fetish, the increasing lack of supply and grid instability led me to install a backup generator a couple years ago. It’s natural gas fired which will have its own supply problems, but I figure that natural gas will be more reliable than electricity in the coming years...at least until some insane Dem completely bans all burning of natural gas. At that point, I’ll have to convert it to propane and put in a big tank.

It is such a pain in the ass to have to second-guess politicians hellbent on destroying us and spend money to stay ahead of them.

People get ready. It’s going to get worse before it gets better in ObamaBrandon’s America.

There will be blackouts, and you will be happy.

Wait till millions of cars drain the grid...which doesn’t even exist...

Just run out to your garage, sit in your electric car and turn that heater up!

Joe has imported over 10 million humans over the last 3 years. That’s about the total population of Michigan. They all require energy in their lives. If we haven’t EXPANDED electricity production over the last 3 years, that drain is going to have to bleed out somewhere.

Thank you Generac! Trouble free backup power for over ten years now.

Same battery, never added a drop of oil.

ZERO interest loan at Home Depot.

I have bought many BIG TICKET items (Cub Cadet tractors and snow blower etc.) and never paid a penny in interest.
