In San Antonio, Texas, at the Alamodome parking lot, a gun buyback is planned from noon to 5 p.m. “Buyback” is an Orwellian term designed to give the impression all guns come from the government. You can not “buy back” what you never owned. A more correct term would be gun turn-in because the guns are turned in to the police to be destroyed.
A flurry of gun turn-in/”buyback” events have been scheduled recently for Dallas, El Paso, and San Antonio, Texas, and for three cities in New Mexico. Much of the money for these events comes from dollars created by the Biden administration. $100,000 of the funds for the San Antonio event are “rollover funds,” funds that were not spent in the last budget. The event in San Antonio is planned to be “semi-anonymous.” From ksat.com:
SAN ANTONIO – A North Side councilman hopes to make a dent in San Antonio’s gun violence through a “voluntary weapons exchange,” where people can trade their guns for H.E.B. gift cards with “no questions asked.”
Councilman John Courage is organizing the Nov. 19 event through his District 9 council office, using funds from his district budget and donations.
People can bring as many as 20 unloaded weapons to the Alamodome parking lot that Sunday afternoon and, depending on the condition and type of firearm, receive between $50 and $300 worth of gift cards per weapon.
“Just drive in,” Courage said. “No one’s going to ask your name. No one’s going to ask where you got the weapon. No one’s going to ask where you live. Simple as that.”
The event is semi-anonymous because police will first check to see if the firearm was stolen. If it is stolen, it will be returned to the legitimate owner.

This should yeild some interesting guns.
No questions asked for the guns the criminals sell to the Popos. Stolen guns, used in murders, how better to get rid of the evidence?
This is so stupid at so many levels, it hurts!
The idea that a gun can be linked to a murder with ballistic evidence does not hold up in practice, unless the gun is already linked to the murder. In very unusual circumstances, it is possible. Those circumstances are very, very rare.
I only recall reading about one case, and it was problematic.
States which tried implementing such a system have stopped doing so.
Lots of money spent, no return.
Gun buybacks are terrible. It encourages theft as degenerates to break into other people’s homes and cars to get free guns to turn in for cash, no questions asked. My daughter lives in an upscale suburb near San Antonio and the theft has been increasing the last few months.
Oh yes. Some dumb old widow turns in an Italian shotgun worth thousands or an old H&H double rifle and of course it will be duly destroyed. Yep. Sure. You bet. Those Desert Eagles and Super Redhawks too. The cops would never keep them. Oh no. /s
Set up a table near the “buy back” and have a sign that says “paying $10 more than what the “buy back” program will give you... see me after you get an offer from the other peeps”
Houston spent $77K on gun buybacks this weekend. They were giving out gift cards.
TEXAS of all places. Can’t believe it!
From the TEXAS Declaration of Independence...
It has demanded us to deliver up our arms, which are essential to our defence, the rightful property of freemen, and formidable only to tyrannical governments.
“Stolen guns, used in murders, how better to get rid of the evidence?”
Well, Ms ATF Agent, I turned all my guns in at a buy back event years ago. I don’t recall when or where, but I got $100 in Wal Mart gift cards!
It has demanded us to deliver up our arms,
*************
Has it been DEMANDED or is this
a FREEDOM OF CHOICE option?
You will never see a Gun buy back situation in our town, nobody will turn anything in especially if it works.
Oh, I dunno...
My .22 jam-o-matic would be a perfect turn in...
I’ll bet the break-ins are in proportion with the surges of invaders wading in the Rio Grande looking for a Border Patrol clown to cut the concertina wire for them. It isn’t a coincidence that they carry the cutters with them on “patrol”.
IMPEACH MAYORKAS!!! He’s not doing his job! (Or maybe he is).
But, let me just say that your drag queen outfit and makeup are FABULOUS!
I hope it’s not mandatory.
>People can bring as many as 20 unloaded weapons
3D printers go whirrrrr.....
Oh, well, thank you!
Lol- good stuff.
