Not a lot of polar bears in the lower 48. I have not seen one in years and years here in Texas or Oklahoma. I hear there have been a few seen in Arkansas and Louisiana though.

A couple of people were killed by polar bears in New York City...

Idiots went through a lot of barriers to get into the enclosure at the zoo.

About 2000 polar bears in the USA, very far northwest of Alaska. They are out at sea most of the time.

They have 2 bear types in japan- a brown bear, and a black bear- the black bear is related to the asiatic bear which if I remeber correctly is very aggressive and foul tempered. Both types are dangerous, but i beleive the Japanese black bear goes out of its way to be aggresive

[[Five people have been killed in attacks by bears so far in fiscal 2023]]

The bears were drunk driving no doubt.

You don’t wanna eat raw bear- trichinosis is a problem in undercooked bears meat.

Chuck was bit by a bear once. The bear apologized and turned itself into a rug for him.

The Asiatic black bear and the American black bear are closely related, but are different species.

The Hokkaido brown bear and American brown/grizzly bear are subspecies of the same brown bear species which exists from Europe, through Asia, into the USA.

I remeber a Josh gate expedition to Japan looking for evidence of sasquatch. They set up camp, and that night a bear entered their camp site area- supposedly bears had gone extinct there which is why folks seeing something thought they were seeing bigfoot- but turns out the brown bears are still there, just not as many as there used to be, so folks were not used to seeing them.

Japans bear density and human density is far greater than the us or Canada. Encounters are more likely

Japan has Asian black bears, not the same species as the North American black bear.

Maybe theirs are more aggressive.

This is totally unfair!! Why is the United States lagging other countries in the important categories?? Maybe we need to import some Japanese bears to train our lazy ones to pump them numbers up into a respectable pace. just an idea.

Time to go into the bear rug business market is ripe for it.

Every time I have seen (black) bear in the wild, it was running away from me like crazy.
But in National Parks and similar venues, they seem not to care!
Obviously, they lost the fear of men.
From there, there is just a little step up to fatal attacks.

“The men there had bunched up, with lines of fire blocked by the guard at their head, whose own rifle misfired. Amid the general confusion and risk of crossfire, the bear escaped into the night. ”

Dang , a lot of the hunt for the bear was chaotic. Best described as a Chinese fire drill. But it indeed was a cunning Animal.
