DeSantis Influencers Say They’ll Write-In Pro-Abortion, Anti-Gun RFK If Trump Wins Primary
The National Pulse ^ | October 2, 2023 | JACK MONTGOMERY

A number of Ron DeSantis supporters have taken to social media to announce they will vote for Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. before they unify behind Donald Trump, despite the DeSantis camp pitching the Florida Governor as a facsimile of Trump with less “baggage” and more “effective” administration.

“Since I have been reliably told for months by Trump supporters that they would write him in even if DeSantis or anyone else won the GOP primary, it’s good to have permission to support RFK in the general if DeSantis doesn’t win the GOP primary,” wrote DeSantis booster Scott Morefield, a blogger for the Townhall.com website. Townhall is owned by the Salem Media Group, which also owns the pro-DeSantis RedState, Twitchy, and other legacy “Conservative Inc” blog sites.

Other DeSantis supporters were quick to agree with Morefield, raising questions as to whether or not they are, in fact, Republican voters at all. Many pro-DeSantis activists on social media are anonymous, newly-created accounts.

“You nailed it Scott. These are the new rules,” said one.

“As long as Trump is not supporting the primary winner, neither am I if it’s him,” seethed another.

“They’re both Liberals, so I might as well go for a honest liberal who can’t be easily corrupted,” concurred a third.

Others, however, weren’t so keen on the new tactic of embracing the pro-abortion, anti-Second Amendment RFK Jr, with user John Ament replying, “We all knew you were a liberal.”

RJK Jr. has won some admirers on the right for his opposition to the medical establishment – including DeSantis himself – he is a fundamentally left-wing politician who supports greater gun control, and shared an article in favor of repealing the Second Amendment altogether. RFK Jr. has stated he would not support abortion restrictions after three months because it is “always the woman’s right to choose” whether to kill her unborn baby.

RFK Jr. is also on record as saying he believes he would take more votes from Trump than Biden as a third-party candidate.

Since I have been reliably told for months by Trump supporters that they would write him in even if DeSantis or anyone else won the GOP primary, it’s good to have permission to support RFK in the general if DeSantis doesn’t win the GOP primary. This is how it works, right?

I looked on the link. This was taken a scintilla of information and turning it into misinformation.

Here's the thing. When they print misinformation you decry how bad the mainstream media. But when the mainstream media makes up something about a Republican, you are the biggest fan of the mainstream media. Why is that?

That's the difference between you and I. Every time the mainstream media prints something about crazy about Trump, I lambaste it. You disagree with anything about Trump, but you promote what they say about Republicans.

I am not a DeSantis supporter. (I don't support anybody yet) But I have criticized DeSantis a lot over the last six months. And I will criticize any politicians, if they deserve it. You refuse to criticize Trump for anything, or hold him accountable. You will support him doing anything, no matter if the old you agreed with it or not. That's what Democrats do. They stick with their guy, and they will defend anything, like they do with Biden. But that's not what conservatives do. Please, you need to come back home, to conservatism.

P.S. I would never vote for RFK jr., or encourage anyone else to. I disagree with him on most important issues, if not all. But I see some Trump supporters want him as VP.

Good point-other than without Trump they are and much of the GOP success the last seven years doesn’t happen-they’d still be complaining abt the Donna Shalaylas and the rest of the Dems in office for life that aren’t in office any longer.

I get the confusion though-if I spent $35,000,000/mo to be 50pts behind-I’d be confused too.

How come no one demands loyalty from Trump? Even Bush put some token conservatives in his administration. Trump refused to hire anyone who wasn’t a RINO. Trump supporter reject any accountability from him.

I’m always shocked and saddened that so many people who pretend to be conservatives, suddenly embrace life-long leftists

Is that meant to be a bash on Trump?

Jeb sits by the telephone every day waiting for the phone call which will never, ever come. When he get's bored, he walks out to the storage shed to count his inventory of guac bowls.

Not much of a threat. They were never going to vote for Trump.

You actually have a point I never thought about. But dozens turned against him before he had a test to show loyalty to them.

I believe he is loyal to the American people.

“You refuse to criticize Trump for anything, or hold him accountable.”

Seems an odd complaint given 90% of industry/institution/billionaires/wealthiest men ever are constantly criticizing and holding Trump accountable.

Most are fully aware of Trump and his shortcomings-
it is impossible to live on earth and be unaware of them.

No.

And I can't see how you would get that idea from what I wrote.

Sounds like the Republicans are getting set to commit politicide in 2024. If they do they won’t have to worry about winning another election.

After multiple elections.....

People should realized that the cruz supporters/desantis supporters/etc are actually nevertrumpers....

And if they say stuff like “I support Trump and voted for Trump once, twice, 100 times...” and will vote for Trump if he is nominated....

after all their vitriolic attacks on Trump and his supporters...

You just can’t believe them.

Oh please. You’re going to write in Trump if he’s not the nominee. Just more pearl-clutching from the Trump cult.

IMO most are well aware of Trump’s often horrendous selections.

They’re highlighted much more than his good selections.

When was the last time a thread/post appeared abt a good selection? Years ago?

It’s attributed to poor advisors, unpreparedness, ignorance and naivete. Will he go to the Christie’s for advice next time? Hope not.

One thing is no 3rd term to be held over his head by deep state. He’s freerolling-things like the pardons that never happened should if given another term.

RFK JR: I remember watching him speak about 10 years ago. The things he was proposing would make Biden look like he’s a centrist.

His ideas for the most part are scary.
