As President Trump aptly notes, the Biden Green New Deal vehicle mandate for 100% electric vehicles within ten years, will collapse the U.S. auto industry. It really doesn’t matter how much the union leadership demands for a pay scale, when the job itself will be wiped out. Other points of pragmatic common sense are throughout this interview, and it is refreshing to hear Trump talk about optimal solutions to big challenges. WATCH:

What the heck is it with these union zombies? Obama says he is going to put the coal workers out of business and union bosses tell the Kentucky coal workers to vote for Obama and they do. Sure enough, away go their jobs.
Now, Biden says he will ensure that the gas and diesel vehicles will be kaput in 10 years and the union bosses tell the rank and file to vote for Biden, anyway. Sure enough, they are tripping over themselves to vote the D ticket, to their own doom.
The union bosses aren’t worried as they aren’t out of jobs. They can move on to greener pastures, well rewarded for their good services. The assembly line guys? Well, after a few years when they figure out they screwed themselves, they can learn to code.

If you listen to the speech he’s clearly sending a message to UAW. No one knows if any union workers were present at his speech.
He’s saying get the best deal you can but it won’t matter because most components for electrics will come from China. The change in technology will give away jobs. I guess it’s possible they could try to add a clause in the contract where technology won’t displace workers but that’s not realistic.
Cost per worker per hour is significantly higher in Detroit compared to Tesla. Range is terrible on trucks used for truck purposes. The grid isn’t ready the charging network isn’t ready.
There’s another problem with electrification and that’s millions of Americans living in apartments, condos or even houses with no covered parking, no way to charge overnight. Charging is still much slower than filling a gas tank. Ranch homes and even apartments with garages are common in California. It’s a different story in the South for example.
I would like to see investment in hydrogen tech continue.
