Reddit users recall shocking real-life stories where the paternity of a child came into question.
Beautiful mature woman hugging her husband, showing HUSH gesture, having secret affair, texting her lover on smartphone. Adultery, relationship issue, marriage cheating, hidden love concept
Back in the late ‘50s or 1960s, my uncle had an affair with a woman who later divorced her husband and became his wife (and my aunt). She had two children with her first husband, or at least that was the official story.
It was obvious, based on appearance, that one of those children was my uncle's biological child. She looked nothing like my aunt's first husband or her older brother, and exactly like my uncle.
As the years went by, the pretense was dropped and it was never mentioned again.

“That’s impossible” Medical Science Laboratory: Portrait of Beautiful Black Scientist Looking Under Microscope Does Analysis of Test Sample.
My mother used to work in a medical lab. One day, another woman who worked in the building was visiting the lab and mentioned that she was blood Type X, her husband was Type Y, and their child was Type Z (I don’t remember the specific types).
“That’s impossible,” blurted out one of the younger lab technicians. Luckily, the visitor either didn’t notice or didn’t care, and moved along shortly after.
I once heard a story about a man who secretly got a DNA test on their 5-year-old daughter, and the results showed she wasn’t his.
He had done the test twice to make sure. He confronted his wife, and she swore up and down that it had to be his child.
They eventually found out the child wasn’t hers, either.
Somehow, the babies were mixed up in the hospital.

There is a hilarious Dick VanDyke episode. Flashing back to when they brought Richie home from the hospital.
Rob is convinced that the hospital switched babies. The mothers gave birth on the same day, had similar room numbers and last names.
Turned out the other parents dropped by to exchange miss-delivered items, and they were... black.
My mother always swore my son was not mine. It became the family joke.
“loving and loved spouses/parent/shackups don’t seek dna testing because they feel sure in their love..”
Unfortunately these days they may be “sure” about something that is just not true.
That benefits the woman who cheated. DNA testing is protection for the claimed “father”.
Since you’re a woman, you know the child is yours with great certainty, unless the hospital switched children on you in the maternity ward.
For the man, if it isn’t his child, his lineage ends. I don’t think you understand what that means to a man to have his lineage end because his wife didn’t love him enough to be faithful. It’s one thing if the man agrees to adopt knowingly and to pass on his heritage through that adoption. It’s another thing when the rug is pulled out from him.
Only the woman wins in that scenario, because the men are considered expendable under the law and their value is nothing more than as wallets.
Mommy’s baby, Daddy’s maybe.
I remember that one, lol!
