From the article: “Are we the science people or are we the idiots?” he said in response to those who suggest planting more trees is good for the environment. You are the idiot if you think that not planting trees is a good thing, Billie. God created things to self balance, whether or not you believe it.

I thought CO2 was a problem (it's not, but...)...

Don't trees convert CO2 to oxygen? So how does KILLING TREES SOLVE THEIR PROBLEM?

If Gates was really interested in a solution to the energy crisis (note, not climate crisis) then he could start to advocate building more nuclear clean energy and desalination systems ( Musk says they are absurdly efficient). These will do a lot more good than cutting trees and burrying them.

BTW, if he does want to cut down all those O2 generating trees, he might want to put them into housing instead of burying them. Same idea, only he would also solve the housing crisis as well.

Gates is not a critical thinker. I wonder what he really is.

Before yesterday, it was understood that trees take in CO2 and emit O2. Then again, it was once understood that global warming meant warmer, not extremely cold winter polar vortexes. Medieval warming period - fuhgeddaboudit. Boys will be boys?

Who the hell is pope Francis to get involved? Why should anyone, Catholic, Jew, Protestant, Muslim, or atheist give a sh#t what that witch doctor with a big hat says or does. He has no credibility or competence. Any time I see his name mentioned or any of his “opinions” given, I despise him more.

So basically he admits even their lies go too far.

I’m shocked. That is usually when they triple down and attack rebuttal.

I guess his underage boy toy isn’t buying it.

Didn’t Xerox give it to them. Didn’t IBM give Microsoft DOS?

Or are the hundreds of stories all lies?

“Give”. Promised? Duped? Who knows? My point is Gates didn’t “build that “ IMO. I actually worked with a Star system way back then. I’m highly doubtful they”gave” it away. There was nothing like it then.

Yes, neither Gates or Jobs created DOS or what became Windows. And their companies were built by businessmen. Jobs was better than Gates. At least he had ideas.

Xerox didn’t know what to do with it other than icon controls for their copiers.

IBM let Microsoft have DOS as a basic platform. They weren’t making PCs yet. Still mostly mainframes. They wanted the software sales.

Basically, both companies were so big innovation was slow and bureaucratic . They didn’t see the future use.

Reminds me when Sears cancelled their catalog just before the rise of the internet. They never digitized. Again, they got too big and cared more about their Dean Witter branch and created Discover. Their retail died.

So many big companies, like Walmart today, forgot who brought them to the dance.
