Kind of makes you wonder about what kind of interactions that cat has had with the baby in the past.

The cat was not born with a tail that long. It kind of adapted to “environmental factors” (a lot of pulling).

I’m invisible, nothing to see here. Go bother the dog, he likes everything. Has absolutely no sense of refinement.

Where was the cat’s tail? Typically, when in the sitting position, the cat tail is extended straight out, seemingly within reach of the baby.

Many pets are more distrustful of kids behavior than they are of adults, but smart pets learn that most kids behavior is less dangerous to them than it is simply not as predictable.

My God daughter and her husband had two dogs before they had their first child. When that first child arrived, and later when it could just crawl, the dogs shared the living room floor with the child as the play area. The dogs learned that even the child trying to play with them was not dangerous, and the child learned the dogs would not intentionally harm them.

I think early exposure works best.

But cats? That is a different matter. Cats do not socialize even with adults as much as do dogs, and are lees likely than dogs to have anything to do with children - in my dog biased view.
