Jefferson definitely knew that slavery would put the Republic in grave peril. He likened the issue of slavery as akin to holding a “wolf by the ears”.
Slavers was a sad and tragic price to pay for the formation of the Republic. But the republic has endured.
The Republic was born with Slavery already inherited.
Not for Jews, maybe, since they reject the New Testament.
