My high school German teacher attended a Catholic grade school with Raquel Welch. My teacher was from Karlsruhe, Germany. Her father was killed in WW2 and an American soldier married her mom. They moved to the US after the war.

My brother (14 years older than me) had a pillowcase with Raquel’s face on it when I was a little kid. He was probably 19 at the time. The pillowcase was marketed as “Sleep with Raquel Welch”. He got it as a gift from one of my cousins or somebody.
I didn’t understand at the time, but now I definitely do. My mom was so straight-laced she could hardly turn her head, but she let it happen. My brother will turn 71 next week. I wonder if he still has that pillowcase.
