How Bad Is It For Ukraine?
Gateway Pundit ^

Posted on 09/03/2023 7:24:14 AM PDT by MNDude

Let me explain why I have spent so much effort on highlighting the commentary and analysis of retired U.S. Generals and some of their foreign counterparts, like Mick Ryan — they are engaged in a massive propaganda campaign designed to mislead the Western public about the true state of the war in Ukraine. They insist that Ukraine is winning, that Russia is losing and that the only prescription for Ukraine’s continued “success” is to pour more money and weapons into the maelstrom consuming Ukraine. This is not a disagreement over what is the best flavor of ice cream. The citizens of the United States and Europe have a right to be properly informed about their resources that are being recklessly expended in Ukraine and that there is no path for victory for Ukraine because Ukraine lacks the material resources, the trained manpower and the weapons required to match up against Russia. Even if Ukraine was endowed suddenly with three fighter wings (that’s about 180 combat planes), these would not be enough to penetrate and destroy Russia’s echeloned defenses.

Take a hard look at this map. The green shows how far Ukrainian forces have advanced over the last three months of their counter offensive. This minuscule “progress” has cost Ukraine an enormous toll in casualties and equipment, such as tanks and armored personnel carriers. Skeptics in the West want to dismiss this as Russian propaganda. Okay. The please show me the reports from Western war correspondents who are on the ground reporting from Topmak or Melitopol. Those do not exist. How about a video or two of triumphant Ukrainian fighters standing atop the wreckage of the first line of the Surovikin defense? Ukraine and its NATO allies would be giddy with joy if they could show such images.

So, exclamation points are now interpreted as emotional? Nuts! (Is that emotional too?)

Fact remains that, Russia INVADED Ukraine. Can't change that fact, no matter how emotional one gets or not.

Afghanistan? We invaded? Let's see, which country attacked the other first? If o=you don't know the right answer, kindly step from your keyboard.

So, it looks as if you would not have gone after Al-Qaeda? Al-Qaeda was based in Afghanisttan, with the support of the Taliban. Not going after them where they lived, would have been a sign of weakness and a license for them to do more of their evil deeds.

This is not a peaceful world, but, if you wish to remain in denial of that fact, I'm sure you can find a rock to crawl under and hope for the best.

The nineteen who flew in the attacks on 9/11 were Saudis.

Osama bin Laden was "... killed at his compound in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad, by United States Navy SEALs of SEAL Team Six (also known as DEVGRU)."

You write, "Al-Qaeda was based in Afghanist[t]an, with the support of the Taliban" and one observes the Taliban are again ruling Afghanistan, after our 19 years there and Biden's disastrous withdrawal.

You write, "This is not a peaceful world, but, if you wish to remain in denial of that fact...." I never asserted it was, and do not deny the fact that this is not a peaceful world. You are playing the "so what you said is" game like a BBC interviewer. Ineptly.

And, yes, you are responding in an emotional manner.

Stoking emotions on the issue & avoiding your original question seems to be the intent with these nutjobs.

Your point is well taken.

Originally I did ask, and was not answered: 1) Are you pleased with Biden's support for Ukraine? 2) Are you not pleased with Biden's support for Ukraine? 3) Other than complaining to others who are as anonymous as are you, what do you propose?

So you are saying we should not have defeated Hitler? That we should not have defeated Japan?

Hitler, we had no choice. And at least we were able to contain the Soviets for the 40-50 years we had to.

Japan, now hmmm, that’s interesting. Would we rather have Imperial Japan or Communist China. I don’t think we necessarily had to go to war with Japan, I think there were some things that could have happened before it got to the point of no return. But I could foresee a scenario where Japan could have been useful, after all they were our Ally in WWI, and could have served as a Bulwark against Bolshevism, and kept the Soviets in check.

As soon as Russia withdraws to the original boundaries there will be ‘peace’.*

* There was low level fighting since at least 2014.

"How about a video or two of triumphant Ukrainian fighters standing atop the wreckage of the first line of the Surovikin defense?"

Readily available on Telegram. Including the dead bodies of the Russians who were defending the trenches, or even live helmet camera video of the Russian defenders getting killed.

Articles that rely on false premises usually are not very informative.

"Even if Ukraine was endowed suddenly with three fighter wings (that’s about 180 combat planes), these would not be enough to penetrate and destroy Russia’s echeloned defenses."

The tires are the sophisticated "echeloned" defense.

The article's author thinks 180 combat planes could not penetrate the great Russian air defenses, but already Ukraine has shown that $2000 cardboard drones can penetrate Russian defenses at major air bases and destroy parked Russian military aircraft.

Why do people post such incorrect nonsense?

Who must be Victoria Nuland's puppets if your theory is correct.

How does Victoria Nuland of all people get Putin to do what she wants him to do? Why is he her puppet?

The weapon tells me it was not WWI, as I thought. But the background was trench warfare looking.

I was in college in 1969. That was 54 years ago, I am 75 now.
