How Bad Is It For Ukraine?
Gateway Pundit ^

Posted on 09/03/2023 7:24:14 AM PDT by MNDude

Let me explain why I have spent so much effort on highlighting the commentary and analysis of retired U.S. Generals and some of their foreign counterparts, like Mick Ryan — they are engaged in a massive propaganda campaign designed to mislead the Western public about the true state of the war in Ukraine. They insist that Ukraine is winning, that Russia is losing and that the only prescription for Ukraine’s continued “success” is to pour more money and weapons into the maelstrom consuming Ukraine. This is not a disagreement over what is the best flavor of ice cream. The citizens of the United States and Europe have a right to be properly informed about their resources that are being recklessly expended in Ukraine and that there is no path for victory for Ukraine because Ukraine lacks the material resources, the trained manpower and the weapons required to match up against Russia. Even if Ukraine was endowed suddenly with three fighter wings (that’s about 180 combat planes), these would not be enough to penetrate and destroy Russia’s echeloned defenses.

Take a hard look at this map. The green shows how far Ukrainian forces have advanced over the last three months of their counter offensive. This minuscule “progress” has cost Ukraine an enormous toll in casualties and equipment, such as tanks and armored personnel carriers. Skeptics in the West want to dismiss this as Russian propaganda. Okay. The please show me the reports from Western war correspondents who are on the ground reporting from Topmak or Melitopol. Those do not exist. How about a video or two of triumphant Ukrainian fighters standing atop the wreckage of the first line of the Surovikin defense? Ukraine and its NATO allies would be giddy with joy if they could show such images.

Texas Fossil makes a valid point. NO ONE WINS in a WAR. Everyone looses. Lay most of the blame at the feet of the U.S. Congress that encourages the poor Ukrainian young men to charge into their own version of Picketts Charge. We never learn from our history. Casualities are just like mosquitos in the summer on the Lakes of Canada...to be expended. Trump probably would have been able to avoid this mess. Remind me again WHY they wanted to impeach Trump over a PHONE CALL? And not impeach a man who encouraged them to go to WAR.

The funny thing about wars, you get rid of one baddie, only to find another baddie took their place.

We defeated Hitler, and got Stalin.
We defeated Japan, and got Mao.

This practice worked with Napoleon and with Hitler. Attrition.

As to Ukraine in general, this is what happens when you make an agreement on disgruntled ....... “provinces” wanting to join Russia and then change your mind at the bidding of your chief money launderer and pedo — Biden.

The only country being demilitarized by Ruzzia is Ruzzia. Ukraine just keeps getting stronger and the daily retreats by Ruzzian forces speak far louder than Ruzzian propaganda.

Bad enough that the Ukrainian mobsters have been sending out their people to force those that left for other countries to come back and fight. They offer them a choice. Either come back and fight or your family that is left in Ukraine die.

An emotional expression of your position.

An irrational and unwarranted interpretation of my post.

What I said was about the insane positions that people take regarding Ukraine, which is, for all intents and purposes, the victim nation that Russia INVADED. Got that? Invaded!

Reality is that, supporting Russia in any way, is insane, even as Biden may be insane himself, and even as Zelensky might be crooked himself. The people of Ukraine are the victims and not supporting them in their struggle against a real vile and evil regime, is INSANE.

So, stop the psychoanalysis and concentrate on the intent of my comment. T

I am not pacifist.

But long ago I saw a sketch of what appeared to be a WWI soldier on a destroyed battle field, with him being the last survivor. It was captioned, “I won, I think”. Since the web came along, I've looked for that photo, but never been able to find it.

“I Won, I Think” is a lie.

In the end, we do not win in a war among men.

So how bad is it for the Russians ?

Russia is in a long war of attrition.

Russia with 140 million people occupying the largest land mass in the world — rich with natural resources. With its 11 local times, Russia is one of the countries with the most time zones worldwide.

OR Russia doesn’t want NATO on its border.

How many TRILLIONS of our tax dollars and how many years are you willing to support this conflict which the Ukraine can NEVER win?

“...and that the only prescription for Ukraine’s continued “success” is to pour more money and weapons into the maelstrom consuming Ukraine.”

All the propaganda and all of the money printing in the world cannot create Western weapons, as the Neocons are now learning the hard way. Russia knew our weakness, and they RAN WITH IT.

Just wondering when were you a field general, and how long did you serve with the Russian army, or what doctorate do you hold on the history of Russian war strategy?

Never have so many pretended to know so much based on nothing at all.

There are too many dying and too many crying for it to be a laughing party.

“They’re getting sore from smiling so hard after all the drone attacks inside Russia.”

“Correct. The armchair generals always fail to realize that Russians have a different doctrine of how they fight wars....”

They know the truth, just as the Operatives here know the truth, every one of them. What really gave it away was Nordstream, where it was OBVIOUS that NATO blew it up, or maybe Ukraine, with NATO intelligence and assistance.

Yet EVERY DAMN one of them on TV blamed Russia. We laughed at them, the Russians and Chinese laughed at them, and the rest of the world laughed at them.

Based on that, it’s OBVIOUS that they are supplied talking points and are not permitted to say anything ‘unapproved’, or they lose their cushy incomes, and are relegated to where truthful information is still allowed (for now), which is the Internet.

---- "INVADED. Got that? Invaded!"

Yes, I got that. Complete with the unemotional exclamation point.

Russia, for example, also invaded Afghanistan..... So did we.

The give away in these articles is they start out with a headline sounding like you’re going to read a lot of military facts.

The it becomes nothing but talking points:

“Where are the photos of the Ukraine flag over the defensive lines, the Ukrainians would love to die the world those pictures but you don’t see any, do you???”

Uh the Ukrainians have been pretty damn good at NOT releasing a lot of photos or detailed statements on progress.

Now let’s deal with a little reality. The Ukraine offense is going slow, BUT the country is relatively small and ultimately their objective is to reach the sea which is not that far away.

So the issue is whether they will run out of steam, or if they can break the Russian line before the muddy weather. If they can’t do that and Russia can start to advance that’s a failure.

If they can do it then it won’t matter if it takes another 2 months, or if they complete it next Spring.

And as for the loss of armor, it appears most of the damaged armor can be repaired and returned to the field. Also that it is saving the lives of the occupants.

I think Russian has achieved much of their goal to occupy the contested areas of Luhansk and Donetsk. Now they are trying to hold it, which is difficult, as Ukraine is receiving a great deal of western aid.

As for me, that border dispute does not concern me, but sending them bilions of US dollars does.

We should cut off aid and let the chips fall where they may.

OR Russia doesn’t want NATO on its border. That's illogical thinking.

NATO has been at Russia's border for decades. Even if Ukraine is taken over, Russia/Ukraine would have NATO at its borders anyway. Convoluted thinking is what Russia hopes to convince people with. Besides, in today's world, borders don't matter when planes and missiles and satellites make them irrelevant.

How many TRILLIONS of our tax dollars and how many years are you willing to support this conflict which the Ukraine can NEVER win?

Trillions? what is the exact figure? I'm pretty sure it's not as high as your exaggeration; not yet.

But, what is the price of freedom? How many countries are you willing to give up in order to feel safe and save money?

WW@ ended up being thousands of times more expensive than if we had stopped Germany early on. Think about it. If Ukraine goes, so do a lot of other countries nearby, because, Russia won't stop with just Ukraine. And our 'allies' would no longer have faith in our support, and would be more tolerant of a takeover; submission would be preferable than death. And, it's not just Russia, because, China would be ready to also advance against its neighbors, after noticing that the U.S. was no longer willing to sacrifice money and military support to its allies.

Shortsighted thinking has caused more wars and bigger wars, than the desire for peace.
