The Centrist Movement of President Emmanuel Macron's slavish devotion to banking-business priorities for France like a higher retirement age and a lower corporate tax burden doesn't excite grass roots voters.
In fact, they caught on when fuel taxes were imposed back in the fall of 2018 in the name of "Climate" and millions came out into the streets to launch the Yellow Vests protests that were massive in scale until the government backed down on the fuel taxation.
Also in the mix incidents of violence in the center of Paris and allegations of Anti-Semitism among the protesters.
Last Sunday's move to ban Islamic dresses in school (abayas) is just that the doctor ordered to revive the lagging popularity of Mr. Macron and his Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne.
The cabinet reshuffle this summer was called a minor one but the change at the Education Ministry the replacement of "Black Studies" advocate Pap Nidaye with former government spokesman-insider Gabriel Attal was obviously done to please the Right in France that had been critical of Nidaye.
And Attal would be the man who made the speech announcing the ban on abayas last Sunday...
On Friday Mr. Macron got to play the "tough guy" on this issue...
The Macron government's "Law and Order" theme since accusing the "Left" of wanting to bring back "The Terror" of the French Revolution when they protested pension reform continues.
If any violence emerges in France like that dramatized by the Mainstream Media and others in the "January 6th" Tradition a few months ago it will be used against the Left...
Getting back to today's protest in Paris the demonstrators taking their message directly to the biases media heading towards the buildings of media outlet BFM-TV in Paris...
