I’ve got a few options but my SW 38 is my preferred go to when I am out and about.

38 Special is a very versatile firearm.
Snake shot for the obvious.
Wadcutter +P for predators. Two legged or four.

I’ve got a few options but my SW 38 is my preferred go to when I am out and about.Me too, but in this case he should have had his S&W 357 Magnum {at least}. I carry my 38 when I'm walking around, but my 357 is in my vehicle, and one in my bed stand.
I used to use 9 or 10 MM semi-autos but the springs get soft and that can lead to jams.
It has happened to me too many times on the range, so I replaced them with wheel guns, and won't go back.

The .38 Special is an old cartridge, much maligned. But it does its job.

Me too, but I wondering whether I should carry a quick loader also in case six just doesn't do the job.
