So, you can't pose an intelligent question nor understand anything but a direct answer, why would I answer a childish idiot??
You really are the result of a Common Core public education. You think stupid questions are logic others should answer.
“So you can’t answer a simple question?”
We adults see the child trying to make a trap and can easily avoid it. This annoys the child, but adults still avoid childish traps. Perhaps you would feel more comfortable at a child’s website.
Ooh a double non-answer post. You must really be tilted.
In the 1943 book, VICTORY THROUGH AIR POWER, by Major Alexander P. De Seversky, it was argued that Aircraft Carriers were a waste of money because new prototypes of long range bombers could bomb Japan from Midway or other American held land.
But the published range and bomb loads of such bombers shrank when fully outfitted and De Seversky was wrong about aircraft carriers being obsolete. We lost lots of carriers, but they were crucial to the war effort. Today, our large carriers are still vulnerable, but they can project combat power. Advanced defensive systems could make them at least as safe as they were back in 1942.
Perhaps you can say why you thought it was important that someone else know how many carriers China has. Adults know how to make statements and not ask childish leading questions.
Here, let me help you, 3rd grader, formulate your answer. Answer these questions to help you understand you own question.
1. How many carriers does the United States Navy have?
2. How many carriers does China have?
3. Why are carriers important, if they are important?
4. How are carriers not important?
5. Does a navy need a carrier?
6. What purpose do carriers serve?
7. What if that purpose cannot be served, are carriers still important?
8. What other Navy ships can serve the purposes of the carrier?
9. What if the carrier is sunk, can other ships continue the purpose of the carrier?
10. Does the number of carrier matter?
I have a feeling that you are right on target and describing the most likely scenario.
I suspect China already has Taiwan”
Me too. See my post #13.
In the famous words of John McEnroe “you have got to be kidding me!”
China is not now nor will it ever be A military peer to the United States. The Chinese would last about 36 hours against us in a kinetic action. I have my doubts they could actually take Taiwan. Its being bandied about that there has been a diplomatic handover. I would not be surprised if its true.
It’s a 135 mile trip to an island that has one of the highest concentrations of anti ship missiles in the world.
You would need about 100,000 troops in the first wave.
Where and how are you going to land these people?
China doesn’t have the troop transports. They don’t have the amphibious skill set (the last large assault was in Inchon.). They would need to build the assets and then train for the assault. For a long time.
And the end result? Even if China was successful it would destroy the Taiwanese infrastructure and China would be a parramatta nation. It would devastate their already shitty economy.
What will really happen is that in a few years Taiwanese strength in semi conductors will wane and the leadership will be open to talking. But in reality, the rank and file in Taiwan would vote with their pocket books and family ties and reunite with China tomorrow.
There are too many folks on the right making this scenario seem imminent. It’s another click bait bullshit story.
You don’t need frontal assaults to take over a country. You live in an occupied territory as it is.
would vote.... to reunite with China tomorrow.
ohhh, please... after watching the suppression of freedom in Hong Kong in their backyard, I don’t think so, they fled the mainland for a reason and it’s NOT all about the Yuan! Goofy thinking in Vermont.... ymmv
Did you know that travel from Taiwan to China is massive? Did you know that the people of Taiwan go back to the mainland quite regularly to visit family?
Aside from the politicians and very narrow sighted...the relations between the two countries’ people are very close.
Taiwan’s industry will start to weaken with every new semi conductor plant built in Vietnam or New Mexico.
But...the GOP wants you to believe that the ships are being loaded for a nice gentle ferry ride...resulting in a million invading PLA troops wading onto the beaches or falling from the skies.
You guys are delusion. Try reading something other than American Thinker. Taking Taiwan is not something that is going to happen soon. Taiwan going isn’t going to happen soon either. But it will happen. Unlike the US...china thinks in terms of decades, not the next election cycle.
The US must make the entire world safe for perverts—even the most minor African dumpster fire must not be exempt.
:-(
....so by your faulty reasoning, Chinese locals were happy that China broke all the promises and took over Hong Kong? Sorry, have a cousin IN Hong Kong and you are just plain wrong, unless every local he works with are hiding their joy... ymmv
China could not cross the strait. Their entire sea borne fleet would be sunk. Any aircraft shot down.
