Historian and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-GA) gave a stark assessment of the indictment of President Trump by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for challenging the 2020 presidential election in Georgia in an interview Monday night on the Fox News Channel show Hannity. Gingrich warned, “we are drifting towards the greatest Constitutional crisis since the 1850s, uh, and the rise of secession and the Civil War,”…that will “(establish) a moment of bitterness, which I think will last for a generation or more.”

We ceased being a Constitutional Republic when Government got involved in politics and helps rig elections.

Nothing is going to happen. There’s a lot of big talk, but nobody is going to give up their life for Trump. Not in significant numbers, anyway.
Oh, Wow! TGP missed a great opportunity to repeat Newt’s most valiant message from that whole segment: “What Trump’s enemies don’t understand is that Donald Trump is no longer a candidate. He is the personification of a national movement.”... “You are seeing a person who personifies for 45% or 50% of the country, their hope that he can save the country from what they see as a stunningly corrupt machine trying to control their lives.”
Read the dumb comments by stupid Democrats.
Stark warning is that like bombshell?

Yes, and? Please finish the thought.

Newt is an opportunist. He was a Democrat before Roy Richards paid him to become a Republican. He has no real foundational beliefs. He simply says what he thinks will be to his best advantage at the time.
Then there is this:
30 MILLION Americans say violence is justified to keep Trump from power: UChicago study
If the Deep State/Media-Dem Party can’t knock Trump out of the race via their campaign of psychological terror and Lawfare, I have no doubt that they will resort to the ultimate method of removal. We all better hope that Trump has a loyal private personal security plan and not depending on the Secret Service, some of which are now known to have been moles for the Deep State, spying on him since he left office.
He’s absolutely right.
It is not for Trump. It is for freedom. I maintain that anything is possible. They will eventually pay the price for their hubris and disregard for 80 million Americans. The pendulum will swing back at them one day.
Globul governance has a hefty price tag.
2008 was the moment, but not recognized as such by the masses. Historically, the Obama Presidency will be viewed as the end of the Republic, IMHO.

Yep, and not meaning to be boastful, but shortly after he became the Democrat candidate I printed several thousand flyers announcing that he was America’s MOST DANGEROUS ENEMY. I then got a friend to travel with me around northern Virginia, West Virginia, western PA, and eastern Ohio and sit in a wheelchair in front of Walmart and other big box stores to hand out the flyers. Great fun but otherwise a complete waste of time.

You’re probably right. I was 22 years old.
1850?
He hit it on the head. The idiocrats have been warned, and have only themselves to blame now.
I disagree with Newt. There won’t be a Constitutional crisis because most Republicans won’t fight. The left will get their way with little resistance. It is not 1860 anymore. As a side see my tagline.
1850?
