It's all too predictable. A scandal or merely an apparent scandal involving Republicans happens and one of the Watergate people, usually John Dean or Carl Bernstein, is brought aboard by the media to perform their "Worse than Watergate!" or "Bigger than Watergate!" shtick.
There's nothing at all unusual about Dean invoking Watergate for the umpteenth time as part of his media circus act. Why bring on this 84-year-old pundit, if that's not the point? Dean wrote a book in 2006 that mild-mannered George W. Bush was Worse Than Watergate. Last summer, Dean was the star of a four-part CNN special titled Watergate: Blueprint for a Scandal.
In the case of the indictment of Donald Trump in Fulton County, Georgia (after it was prematurely announced before the grand jury even finished deliberating) CNN's Kaitlan Collins inducted John Dean to perform his "Bigger than Watergate!" act.

Dean tried to write it off as a practical matter so they don't step over each other but is a big no-no. Oh, and Willis can't now claim she did the communications with Team Smith to keep from "stepping on each other's toes" because she has already flatly DENIED being in contact with Smith.
I stubbed my toe yesterday. It was worse than the Holocaust.
I gotta wonder about Kaitlain Collins. Must’ve been some pretty powerful Kool-Aid she drank.
Bob Woodward should sue for infringement or demand royalties from all these TV hacks using his patented ‘worse than watergate’ hyperbole.
Dean is correct.
This is bigger than Watergate. Watergate was a setup to takeout a sitting president and it worked. The second time Washington took out a sitting president.
What they are doing now is taking out not only their leading ‘election’ opponent, but also the main opposition party and an entire class of voters.
Meanwhile, back at the White House, the biggest crook and crime syndicate is selling this country down the Potomac.
The media think themselves more important than they are. CNN especially.
By comparison -- "Rogan's podcast boasts a viewership of an estimated 11 million people per episode."
11 million for a podcast. CNN weighs in as a pipsqueak, squeaking as loud as it can.
LOL! So CNN has only about 1% of the audience that Joe Rogan has.
So, much bigger than nothing.
CNN just doesn't want us to compare and contrast. Were I in the advertising business, such as this would be a sharp quill in a quiver to pry lose ad revenues to other venues.
a lot of things are bigger than watergate... like the cabal that orchestrated it all.
we will see monday if trump makes it through the weekend.
I guess watergate was fake also?
CNN not only had Dean, also aboard was Sununu, the New England kleptocrat.
Dean is a one trick pony whose one trick is “this Republican scandal is Worse than Watergate.” But hey, I guess a guy has to make a living somehow.
cut the cable tv
force them to offer a la carte
that would be fatal for cnn
half of their revenue is cable subscriber fees
if you have cable tv
you are funding cnn
whether you watch them or not
Dean is not only a liar and a criminal, but he is the mastermind behind the water gate apartments break-in and cover up.
Indictments have many iffy issues they are counting their bananas before the trial.
So the strutting peacock displayed itself with two whole feathers.....
