Can’t understand the lyrics, either.

OK?

Probably the most honest song I’ve ever heard. It touches on everything the American people are feeling. Rich men North of Richmond (DC Politicians) just tells it like it really is.

The supercilious critics who cannot “hear” this song are revealing themselves. The irony of their criticisms is the loud message they are sending about themselves.

What a whiner. Real mean work themselves to death to support their families. He’s pathetic.

That’s what I was just thinking. If they can’t understand the song they can’t understand America. Just like the DC politicians he is singing about.

We’ll see if Lawrence Welk has any new releases for you.

Hang tight.

In the meantime, Rich Men North of Richmond is the #1 song on iTunes and likely the most streamed song in the world.

Exactly, thank you.

He’s singing about the same topics we talk about here.

Well, sociopathy is an affliction which renders its victims tone deaf to the suffering of others.

Instead I heard a young man sing his soul, and the souls of millions.
He’s raw but he’s real!

/*

Same for me.

Ford still deals with Germany for many of their transmissions. Now that you mention it, I do know that the Pinto 2.0 has been on many a race track. Chevy has/had one too. That was a major period of change because of federal regulations for “emissions”.

Japs figured out 30 vacuum lines and a 5 speed took care of it and at the same time, managed to make them faster.

The big three put a belt driven, power stealing smog pump on them. I think the Pinto was done by then.

I owned a mid 80s Chevette with AC, automatic tranny and emission crap. Most embarrassing thing I ever drove. What a slug. Hondas and Toyotas would fly by it.

“We’ll see if Lawrence Welk has any new releases for you”.

Maybe your favorite song endures—maybe not...

I’m stuck on Buddy Holly, Linda Ronstadt, Jim Croce, Adel, the Beatles singing “Hey Jude”, and a few groups with acoustic guitars, ABBA. Today, its mostly Classics from the Baroque period. “Misarare” stands out among vocals.

I’ve got to understand the lyrics to enjoy American vocals: Russian Orthodox choir music being the one exception...

I posted a link to this guy’s video a couple of days ago.

He speaks for MANY people in this country.

I agree. Oliver Anthony did not have access to a professional recording studio. He did not have a producer or a mixing engineer. He did not run his voice through autotune or some other gadget.

He simply wrote a song, recorded it with a guitar and his own raw voice, and put it out on the Internet.

Within a week, it went viral and he had the number one song in the country.

This is a huge success story that should be celebrated, not ridiculed.

When it comes to music, I'll take the authentic over the slick professional every time.

I’ve listened to this song over and over again. Wow...it packs a lot into just a few verses.

Starts off talking about how hard work is all that young people do...and they’ve only got going home and getting wasted as an escape.

Living in a new world with an old soul - Society has changed so rapidly with no thought of the past culture...all supported and financed by the elitists.

Young men are putting themselves six feet in the ground - Hope has been removed for an entire generation and young men have been told they can’t act like...well...young men. It’s okay to be homo or trans but not a redblooded male...that’s toxic.
