President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he will not sign the party’s loyalty pledge for the 2024 elections.
This pledge, which promises support for the eventual Republican presidential nominee, is a requirement set by the party’s leadership for candidates who wish to participate in the high-stakes primary debate slated for August 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel emphasized that signing this pledge is mandatory for candidates wishing to participate in the GOP’s first primary debate.
Earlier this year, McDaniel said President Trump would sign the pledge: “I think they all want to be on the debate stage. I think President Trump would like to be on the debate stage. That’s what he likes to do. And I expect they will all be there.”
During an interview with Newsmax’s Eric Bolling, Trump announced he would not sign the pledge.
“I mean, I have a problem with the debate for another reason. I wouldn’t sign the pledge. Why would I sign a pledge if there are people on there that I wouldn’t have. I wouldn’t have certain people as somebody that I would endorse,” said Trump.
“So, they want you to sign a pledge, but I can name three or four people that I wouldn’t support for president. Right there, there’s a problem,” Trump added.

Sounds like you're butt hurt, to me.

She was Trump’s choice, you know.
Yep, his demand for loyalty only goes in one direction.
Pence didn’t have to reject the votes but just send them back to the states.j
A swift kick in the ash for Rona McRombush who thinks she run the party. GOOD!
LOL. You probably don’t even know, but DeSantis is pledging to arm the Mexican border, with orders to shoot to kill. You ever even heard of “gain of function” or know what it means? I could understand why not, because Trump has never even uttered the words before, but DeSantis has banned it completely in Florida. Ever heard of Soros and the WEF? Maybe you have heard of that, since Trump is big buddies with Klaus Schwab, and one of Trump’s kids is an official “WEF Young Globalist Leader.” Maybe that’s why Trump offered Bill Gates the job as Chief Scientist at the White House? DeSantis would never do that, he’s empaneled a grand jury in Florida to investigate potential crimes regarding Trump’s warp speed vaccines. Did you take all your boosters like Trump wants you to? He just announced he wants to build s bunch of 15 minute cities with our tax dollars too. Sound like a good place to live, or not?

Trump is a smart man. He knows that a FOX Snooze debate is an ambush with the likes of Brett Bair and the little cabal of knucklehead candidates that we already know where they stand.
Many no longer watch FOX and they won’t start for this. After the way FOX treated Trump, he doesn’t need to give them any ratings.
Anyone who follows through with the threat of not voting for the nominee If it is not who they want is a RINO.
Does that make Trump a RINO? No, not at this time. If he were to lose the nomination and still refuse to support the winner, then I would call him a RINO.
I am willing to give any candidate a wide berth leading up to the primary. They are fighting with other party members for the nomination. They are going to be critical of each other and point out flaws and try to tear each other down. However that must stop immediately once the nominee is selected. Ideally it would stop once the nominee was obvious, even if the primary voting was not complete.
Your state that “Trump is obviously advocating for Biden to win” is deeply flawed. Trump is running (and currently leading by a huge margin) to get the Republican nomination to then go against and defeat Biden. That is the polar opposite of advocating for Biden to win.
It would be as if I said to you “Since Trump is obviously the Republican nominee, don’t DeSantis’ criticisms of him amount to support for Biden?” That would be as ridiculous of a statement as your claim that Trump is supporting Biden.
Simply putting the word “obviously” in front of a false statement does not magically make it true. I get the psychology of putting that there to make someone hesitant to question it since it is “obvious”. But such games only work on particularly weak minded individuals.
Just for reference, here is what I said earlier:
“Trump supporters who are saying they will refuse to vote for anyone else if Trump loses are only helping Biden getting re-elected if they follow through with that.”
She was going to get the nod anyway until she is ready to step down. It has always been that way in the GOPe.
Makes me think he doesn't really think he'll get the nomination in the end...The present polls?? MInd bending....nothing more.
“It’s certain they wouldn’t support him, pledge or no pledge. There’s more honor among thieves.”
That’s right, and this decision helps break that stupid Queensberry rule that we the people should support the establishment GOP as the eGOP tries to destroy our choices of candidates.
Spoken like a true leader!
Ronna would be a big fat (emphasis on “fat”) ugly Nobody if not for PDJT. Betrayal is how she thanks him.
“He won’t even show up for the debate.”
I hope he doesn’t.
If ever the case could be made against Trump, it would be at a gathering of his opponents.
I am a Trump supporter but something’s out of whack that he doesn’t have a significant opposition in his party.
The Meatball can duke it out with Christie and Pence.
And he's effectively saying Repub voters are stupid if they nominate X Y or Z.
I beg to differ. Going along to get along has been disastrous for our Country. A leader calls a spade, a spade. As far as negative responses go, it’s a target rich environment.
