President Trump actually predicted the demise of the U.S. Women’s Soccer team – warning that wokeness was not a winning formula.
“Woke politics takes the life and joy out of everything. Woke-ism makes you lose, ruins your mind and ruins you as a person. You become warped. You become demented,” he said in 2021 during the speech to the Turning Point Action political action committee in Phoenix.
Trump was right.
The soccer team was eliminated from the World Cup – one of their worst losses since they were beaten by that group of 15-year-old boys in 2017.
There was no love lost between the team and soccer fans.
That’s because the team refused to sing the national anthem. They also refused to place their hands over their hearts. Instead, most of the team just stood there, slouched over – smacking chewing gum and smirking.
In 2019 team leader Megan Rapinoe stated that she would never put her hand over her heart for the anthem. In 2016 she was one of the first to take a knee during the Star-Spangled Banner.
“Why would we root for a team that has such disdain for the country they’re supposed to be representing,” one fan wrote in a letter to the New York Post. “I used to LOVE watching them play as they were amazing to watch. They have become one of the most unlikable teams in the history of American sports.”
It was fitting that Rapinoe would end her career and the team’s run with a missed penalty kick.
“Nice shot, Megan,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“The ‘shocking and totally unexpected’ loss by the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team to Sweden is fully emblematic of what is happening to the our once great Nation under Crooked Joe Biden,” Trump wrote. “Many of our players were openly hostile to America – No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close. WOKE EQUALS FAILURE.”
The president warned that unless the nation turns from its woke ways, we are “going to Hell.”
Maybe next time U.S. Women’s Soccer will field a team that actually loves the country they’re supposed to represent – instead of a group of ungrateful, selfish whiners.

When making a political statement becomes more of the focus than playing the game, these are predictable results.
He called them out. That’s hardly “mocking”.
A Freeper made the post of the decade here yesterday stating that the girls on the USNWT can hold their heads high. At least Trump isn’t president. LOL. Excellent response, IMHO.
Not only that, the final act of the dodo Rapinoe was so bad the opposing team didn’t need to field a goalie! Her kick went OVER the top goalpost! Then she laughed about it. I think she missed on purpose. Either that or SHE wasn’t really good enough to be on that team to begin with..
