In a recent appearance on Stay Free with Russel Brand, Florida Gov. and GOP presidential primary candidate Ron DeSantis made a statement that will undoubtedly prove controversial to many, confidently claiming that he gets “attacked by the corporate press” more than any other person, including former President Donald Trump.
DeSantis’ remarks came after show host Russell Brand asked how he is managing to deal with “the tension of being a representative of establishment forces while acknowledging that many people no longer trust the media” in addition to government and American institutions.
“Well, one I would, I would push back on this idea that I'm representing establishment forces,” DeSantis began. “I get attacked by the corporate press, more than anybody running for office more than Joe Biden and now more than Donald Trump, because I think the corporate press views me as a bigger threat.”
The Florida governor then claimed that the corporate press understands that he will “beat Biden” whereas they think Trump would lose and that even if he did, the press believes he would be “distracted” and consequently unable to deliver.
Some have raised doubts about DeSantis’ assertions of being the corporate press’ number one target, including conservative commentator Sebastian Gorka, who sarcastically asked, “Can someone send me the links to when [DeSantis’] home was raided by the FBI and his campaign illegally surveilled?”
Numerous smaller accounts weighed in as well, echoing similar sentiments:
I’m beginning to think that’s a default line used by R candidates. It simply isn’t becoming.
“we will never see a conservative POTUS ever again”
It’s quite possible, but I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion. A whole LOT of people are sick of the status quo, to the point where independents are almost equal to the membership of either “major” party.
In a situation like that, especially when more than half of the voters of one of the major parties are also feeling disenfranchised, abused, and taken for granted by their party, the situation is ripe for an unexpected political realignment.

It's all the more reason DeSantis isn't and never will be Presidential material. He's lightweight and weakling.
If elected, what makes him think he won't be attacked wuth the same intensity by the media (and the left, sorry to be redundant) as Trump?
The big difference is, Trump won't cave and skink away like a good little compliant Republican, and Trump has the means to defend himself. DeSadness does not have those resources. Welcome to the party, pal, but look at 2028, not 2024.

If you think it is rough now, you would not be able to withstand the onslaught should you some how attain front-runner status. Or even worse, got the GOP nomination.
They will find mud, even if they have to make up lies. That is what they do. That is who they are.
DeSantis has lost me. I hope he is not the one.
Did he even watch the media attack Trump every time he did a presser. It was disgusting. He never got the respect a President deserves. If Trump wins in 2024 I hope he has his staff do the same thing they are for biden. Give him the questions thats gonna be asked, Trump don’t need the answers written down for him. But the media will have a melt down when his staff lets them know what questions they can ask and who is gonna ask it. And if they don’t then they won’t be allowed to ask another question. Or be let in the room during the presser.
