The judicial reforms being attempted are reasonable.

The current judicial establishment is self-serving and has made up from whole cloth not just rules for itself, but laws for the nation and rules for how they themselves are chosen (the judicial establishment itself, not the executive with the consent of the legislature, chooses new candidates for the supreme court). If the executive or the legislature operated with so little checks and balances on their powers the judiciary itself would be up in arms, yet they think nothing of taking such unchecked powers for themselves.

The bar and the judiciary in Israel are dominated by the Left and it is the possible loss of that power that they are “protesting”.
