Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was removed from the House Freedom Caucus after taking Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s side too many times on key votes. Greene also feuded with Freedom Caucus member Lauren Boebert.
Maryland Rep. Andy Harris confirmed the removal saying the Boebert feud was “the straw that broke the camel’s back.” He said:
“I think the way she referred to a fellow member was probably not the way we expect our members to refer to other fellow, especially female, members.”
Greene called Boebert a ‘little b*tch” earlier.
“A vote was taken to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from the House Freedom Caucus for some of the things she’s done,” Harris added.
“I think the straw that broke the camel’s back was publicly saying things about another member in terms that no one should,” he said.
Greene also went after Freedom Caucus member Ken Buck of Colorado after he came out against cutting funding to the Justice Department.
“Any Republican who has said or even written ‘Drain the Swamp’ must be ready and willing to cut funding, use impeachment, and use the Holman rule,” Greene said.
“Drain the swamp,” she added.
According to Politico:
It is the first time the group has formally booted a member from its ranks. Then-Rep. Justin Amash previously quit the group.
Harris noted that there was “one other member a couple of years ago, who we probably would have asked to leave, but we just decided not to.”
Members of the Freedom Caucus have been the driving force behind challenges to Speaker Kevin McCarthy as he tried to win the gavel and during a recent debt fight.
Though those strategies didn’t completely unify the group, Harris said Thursday that after the Greene vote there were no other remaining “large divisions.”
yet Adam Schiff, proven liar just gets a slap on the wrist, while Dems rally around the POS.
This is a gutless move by Republicans wanting 3 seconds of good press.
Republics, doing what they do best: cutting each other’s throats.
Its a wonder they have any majority in the Federal government, anywhere.
.
And the Republicans are saying they’re moving at normal speed in the Biden Investigation and have spread Interviews throughout the Summer.
No Urgency at all.
McCarthy has made promises and the people reporting to him are throttled.
This is old news.
I find it fascinating that the many previous threads/replies on MTG are either in support of her.
Or against her.
No middle ground.
I guess I’m just missing the threads on MTG. First I’ve seen of it.
Our republic is DOOMED!
MTG brought this on herself.
Yes...she did.
MTG has behaved like trash...it’s about time she gets tossed out with it.
Not the same thing. MTG was merely removed from the Freedom Caucus.
THIS IS ONE SICK COUNTRY! AT 83, GLAD I WON’T BE AROUND MUCH LONGER.
No use fighting anymore.
The only one who sought out attention ALL THE TIME was MTG.
Good riddance to her in 24!
so we need more like lady Lindsey then I guess.
so she was silenced by her own while the Dems rally around a proven liar.
She already is like Linda Graham.
Sucking up to Kevin McCarthy
and voting for the Debt Limit.
Did not take long for DC to corrupt her.
Ok, I’ll give you that on McCarthy, he sucks.
Still she says things that needs to be said. I like her for that. Bigger brass balls than most of the men in the Rep party.
Utter nonsense.
She licks McCarthy’s backside.
She had the chance the actually vote against
the Debt Limit, instead of just running her mouth.
She voted for the Debt Limit
She talks a good game, but votes a different way
on bills that really matter. The Debt Limit vote Mattered..
OK, I will take the hint and take a closer look at her voting record.
Talk is cheap, so I will see how cheap she really is.
“Alert?”
This is only the latest of many threads telling us this.
The “alert” is old.
