The Great Melting Pot - Beautiful Eva Gabor With Qaker President Dick Nixon And Remembering Leaves Of Grass On July 4th

July 4th, America's Independence Day, is also film and television star Eva Gabor's birthday and the date of the first publication of Leaves Of Grass in 1855.

That seminal work was a part of the cultural birth of the USA:

""What is known I strip away, I launch all men and women forward with me into the Unknown.

..............

Births have brought us richness and variety, And other births will bring us richness and variety."

" ....... after the child is born of woman, man is born of woman, This the bath of birth, this the merge of small and large, and the outlet again.

Be not ashamed women, your privilege encloses the rest, and is the exit of the rest, You are the gates of the body, and you are the gates of the soul."

God Bless Birthdays.

Ozguy; thank you for helping us honor our Independence Day in the states.
Australia has it’s own rich and complex history, but isn’t this country still a part of the English Commonwealth?

**I recall Eva Gabor in her part as Eva Douglas, the wife on TV comedy Green Acres. “I get allergic smelling hay!”

America was never a melting pot where all races melt together. The term was even coined by a leftist playwright a century ago.

Oh, was her TV name Lisa? I probably forgot, it’s been so long. I just recall the name being two syllables with a strong EE sound in the first syllable. To this day, I remember all the characters.

Spelled “Eva”, but pronounced Ay-vuh.

It was about people from various nations, cultures, religions and political backgrounds agreeing to live under the Rule of Law in accordance with American principles. Race is just skin color, not how one behaves (or doesn’t).

“Green Acres” is a gateway drug.

I remember the stage hand , Eb, once talking about some items Douglas recently purchased that turned out to be stolen.. and on the radio an announcer was saying the stolen items one-by-one- and they matched the items Douglas purchased... and the last one was “..and a red tractor” and Eb says “hmmm... Ours is yellow” and the radio announcer says “and 2 gallons of yellow paint”

I found that so ridiculously funny I LOL’d my *** off.

The actor who played Eb was excellent for that part. He had a very expressive face and voice. He was tall and lanky and as homespun or “ country” as can be.

He was also the one member of the cast who had been a real farmer.

Now even the term “Melting Pot” is rejected by the Left.

She was on Green Acres in the 1960s. I watch METV a lot (the “Old Geezer” Channel) and they show a lot of ads for that show. I was never a fan during the ‘60s but it looks as if it...and she...were pretty funny.

No,certainly not fully. But to take our family...grandparents born in Ireland,my uncle (first generation American) hated the British.I,second generation, don’t hate them at all and think of myself as 100% American. In fact...during my one visit to Ireland I found it to be a horribly depressing place.
