Oh, not yet. Regular Russian army formations still battle on the lines in the Donbas and near Kherson. Vladimir Putin ordered a new blast of missile attacks on Ukrainian cities last night as well. Putin still holds Crimea. However, the rebellion of Yevgeny Prigozhin and the Wagner Group and their strategic execution have made it impossible for Russia to maintain its occupation, let alone win a war.
(snip)
I won’t recap the specifics of Prigozhin’s actions, but the key to this — as Prigozhin apparently realized too — was Rostov (or Rostov-on-Don, if you prefer). After the Ukrainians won the battle of Kharkiv and pushed the Russians significantly farther to the south in that area, Rostov became the main center for Russian ground lines of communication (GLOCs) to their troops in Ukraine. The loss of Kharkiv and most of the territory between it and the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts eliminated Belgorod as an effective communications point. There may be minor GLOCs bypassing Rostov still open, but there are none that has the capacity for resupply to a largish invading army. Prigozhin’s seizure of Rostov cut Russia’s invading army off from everything it needs to survive in hostile territory. And the apparent seizure of Voronezh probably cut off any minor GLOCs still open.
It won’t take Russian army forces long to realize it, either. The Russian army already had severe manpower, supply, and morale issues. Wagner had been more effective and better supplied than most of those, which means the sudden march on Rostov has left big gaps in Russian capability. But it also left all of Putin’s effective fighting forces in Ukraine, cut off by the Wagner Group but still engaged with Ukrainian forces and likely unable to move without significant losses.

The war is not over, but here is a quick summary of the war:
1. Russia invades a sovereign country.
2. Russian dupes and Russian agents on Free Republic support them.
3. Invasion doesn’t go as planned.
4. Russian dupes and agents whine and complain, while predicting imminent victory.
5. War drags on for more than a year.
6. Russian dupes comically and desperately call those who don’t support the invasion a wide variety of names including Neocon, globalist, Nazi sympathizer, wanting a World War, etc., etc., while claiming that those who think that Russia isn’t winning the war are deluded.
7. Major revolt happens within Russia.
8. Russian dupes have a big sad.
Excellent summary. The pathetic thing is the dupes continue to support Putin even as the evidence mounts that he supports BLM and colluded with Hillary in 2016. But hey, he says the right things about gays and trannies, and that’s what counts, right?
“ I won’t recap the specifics of Prigozhin’s actions”
Then shut up.
We don’t need empty blather.
Report what happened and is happening.
Don’t need blah blah blah I’m a pundit my prose is so cool.
Doesn’t change the fact that neocons have never met a war they didn’t like.
NO!!!!
I guess you would give the Chi Coms everything they want, huh.
You lose again. It’s gotta 😢 hurt
Grumpy today? Then I'll oblige you with the recap...
The rebellion in Russia is really happening (Update: Wagner advances toward Moscow)
“The pathetic thing is the dupes continue to support Putin “
We don’t support Putin.

NO US Money for the Criminals on both sides and the Crony Caps benefiting from it all.
It’s not e Dupes that support it, it’s the NECONS and other Grifters.
“ The road to Moscow is wide open!”
*************************************
True but, sadly for you, Prigozhin is not taking it. He apparently got the message implicit in Putin’s speech.
My prediction is that Wagner is heading back to Ukraine but with additional resources and logistical support this time. Sorry, Snake, no expanded war outside of Ukraine for you this time…. foiled again.
“Is the Ukraine war over?”
The Ukraine War ended roughly a year ago, once Russia destroyed the Ukrainian army. Now it’s the Neocons against the Russians, with Ukrainians being the cannon fodder to get grounded up.
Is the Ukraine war over?
Lets hope and pray that it is basically over.
Global homo uber alles is their battle cry.
LOL...NATO with 1 brigade of Abrams and air support could take Moscow in 3 days.
Wagner had them on the brink with almost no armor and zero air support.
Russia is still busy in Ukraine since there failed attempt at Kyiv, they promised that would take 3 weeks.
So we’re supposed to take Lukashenko’s word here? He’s hiding out in Turkey tonight.
It’s not over but taking a new turn against Russia. Mercenaries are turning on Putin for double crossing them. It’s pretty obvious the citizenry and police are turning on Putin.
“LOL...NATO with 1 brigade of Abrams and air support could take Moscow in 3 days.”
Link, please.
No, it’s over.
