They'll do it the way they did it in 2020: make everyone else endorse Newsom the week before Super Tuesday, and let RFKJr. be the Bernie Sanders of 2024, the one opponent to Newsom who makes it look like the coronation isn't a coronation.
If it looks like Trump is really surging, I can’t see why they’d go with Newsom. California is already in the bag for the Democrats. It would make more sense to pick a popular Democrat from a swing state.
No way Biden runs, he's in decline and his policies have failed. He cannot debate and he cannot speak to the press unless he has the questions and answers written for him. I agree Newsome is the frontrunner to replace him, and yes that would man debates with RFK Jr. When? Probably after Labor Day.
If the deep-state can push forward a corrupt, controlled, demented stooge like Biden and manipulate the media and election to install him..... then the can also push him down some stairs to kill him, or force him to resign by merely having controlled media promote one of his many scandals.

Newsome said he'd debate DeSantis for 3 hours without notes, so he will also welcome a debate with RFK, Newsome is over confident and will be made a fool, which is nice.

Aw, heck. You might be right. If the DNC is sure the cheat machine will do its job, no need to consider strategy. Just pick the person who best aligns with DNC goals.

To the non-men of non-color, Newsom will come across like the husband they wish they could had married. Mrs BHO, by contrast, comes across like Beyonce on a bad day.

The Ds have about 14 months to pull the switcheroo that eliminates Slo-Jo and Kamal-Ho from the political scene and places Newsom in the Oval Office. It goes like this:
1) Kamal-Ho resigns because of health reasons (ie she wants to keep breathing).
2) Slo-Jo appoints Newsom to VPOTUS. This is legal.
3) Slo-Jo resigns because of health reasons (ie he also wants to keep breathing). This elevates Newsom to POTUS.
4) Newsom appoints the new VPOTUS prolly Big Mike (NOT Hillary because Gavin also wants to keep breathing).
