I have repeatedly noticed that articles posted on freerepublic are seldom seen in search engine results.
When I have searched for article I post on Gun Watch, which is a small blog, the Gun Watch articles appear in search engines. When the identical article is posted on Freerepublic, it does not show up on search engines, unless the search term freerepublic is specifically included.
Freerepublic has a much greater circulation than Gun Watch.
Has anyone else seen evidence the search engines undervalue freerepublic?
You can’t trust Duck Duck Go for links to things like banks because they let anyone pretend to be your bank if they pay for the #1 ranking.
Some sites, of the wrong persuasion, I think Google will actually find pages on the site which are unrelated, and serve them as bad results, so you are looking for something, it serves you an unrelated Free Republic page, and you leave thinking that FR doesn’t have anything you are interested in. I have seen that with a few sites now.
There will come a time, if things progress unopposed, where the system will serve each of us our own internet, and as we think we are chatting with real people, everyone we converse with will be AI bots making the conversations of no consequence, and leaving our time and effort wasted. And everything we see will be controlled propaganda.
There are no limits to how bad those in power will make it, if nothing changes. And truth be told the technology is probably already there, they just need to assemble it.
I’ll agree about the goggles censorship which is why I only use DUCKDUCKGO.
I can say that the other day I Posted a Thread about the NASCAR Race at North Wilkesboro Track the other day and I went to DDG and was looking for more information to post and the Thread was like 4th on that search list. And I see FR on DDG searches regularly.
When I type fr into Bing it displays Free Republic at the top. Just ahead of Frontier Airlines.
