Ron DeSantis always makes a big deal about signing all of the Florida laws that stem from new legislation the people behind his administration submit from his office. However, when he signed the new law that sealed all his travel records [Previously Discussed Here], he did so quietly.
.... Snip....
Ron DeSantis ’24 is 100%, guaranteed to be an absolute construct of the billionaires, multinationals, and hedge fund managers who must stop Donald Trump and the America First platform. Look backward at the professional Republican outcomes in 2018, 2020 and 2022 to see the background of what this is all about.
FLORIDA – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law Thursday that would hide records about his past and future travel, as well as powerful people he meets with, at a time when he’s widely expected to be on the cusp of announcing he’ll run for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
DeSantis signed the bill into law unceremoniously on Thursday afternoon, among more than 35 other bills. His office sent an email to the press that listed the bills that were now law.
Under the new law, details about the governor’s trips — whether on state planes or private, chartered flights — will be retracted, including names of staff and family members that travel with DeSantis. Visitor logs to the governor’s mansion and his office also will be hidden.
The retraction will shield information not just from journalists but from DeSantis’s political opponents, who would likely compile droves of research to use against the governor for public scrutiny. Chief among these could be instances in which DeSantis traveled with lobbyists or others who might have been trying to curry favor with him. (read more)

This from the governor, the special warrior created on the 8th day, who wrote a book and lectured us all on courage.
Just like a democrat...
Desantis will end is career in GOP if he runs for nomination; the aim is not to win but to damage Trump so he loses general it is part of establishment play...you need to spread the word.
Better than the prez whose record is to lock us down and pay big pharma billions. Many, many people died alone in homes and hospitals without the humanity of a funeral.
It is a disgrace to their memory and what tiny freedom he let us keep, to even let someone with that record sit at the adult table.
But hey he and hailey and woketastic Disney are terrific.
Meatball doesn’t want the real paisans to know he frequents Olive Garden.
Just like a Democrat? Exactly...
Reminds me of Obama and his, “Transparent” presidency.
The alternative is supporting Trump, which requires me to abandon every conservative principle I've ever held.
He hiding something.
Was Washington perfect? Adams? Jefferson? Lincoln? Reagan?
BTW, if you read the bill you’ll discover that there’s a sunset provision for this law.
2028.
Interesting timing on that, don’t you think?
Can you think of a reasonable explanation for that?
Yes. Lots of laws have sunset provisions, often as a compromise to getting it passed. Also, it gives lawmakers the opportunity to address any unforeseen consequences that weren't anticipated.
Sunset provisions are a good thing. If it's a good, effective law, lawmakers can later take measures to redraft the law making it permanent.
It was a sunset provision that allowed Clinton's assault weapon ban to expire.
Trump, of course, is no stranger to sunset provisions. The tax cut he signed in 2017 is set to expire for individuals (but not corporations) after ten years.
No signing celebration or press release??
Your tagline is laughable.
He sure is following o’bama’s footsteps.
Waiting for desanctimonious to seal his college records and birth certificate...
He sure is a let down. I wouldn’t vote for him if he was the last candidate on earth. He can’t be trusted. No one hides stuff unless there’s something shady going on.

So: finally moving the Israeli embassy to Jerusalem violates your deeply held conservatism? Reigning in the EPA and withdrawing from the IPCC Paris accords is problematic for you? How about big tax cuts, and full employment for folks of all races, that’s bothersome? Getting Europe to pay its share for NATO sticks in your conservative craw? Coming down HARD on China and Iran, WHILE keeping us out of foreign conflicts, that disturbs you?
And I could go on...
Say, are you SURE you’re conservative?
The article says it was done quietly.
Ronald Herbert Walker DeSantis is telling us who he is, but some of us aren’t listening.
Don't care about Jerusalem.
He fired Scotty Pruitt for reigning in the EPA too fast and making liberals cry.
Yeah, withdrawing from the Paris Accords was good, I'll give him that. Of course, it's all for naught now.
And Trump's tax cuts had a sunset provision for individuals (but not for corporations.
Of course, there's also the gun ban that I didn't vote for and Trump handing the country over to Dr. Fauci who allowed his once juggernaut economy to crash into a wall.
There's the $4+ trillion in "free money" he mailed out, sparking the inflation bubble.
Gay parties at Mar-a-Lago, supporting Bud Light and Disney in the culture wars, blaming pro-life conservatives for the 2022 midterm debacle, endorsing Stacey Abrams. I could go on.
Say, are you SURE you’re conservative?
Yes, I am. Too many here forgot what that means.
Has deliberately and constantly lied about his intent to run for president.
Like to play games and jerk people around, with when he's going to announce his intent to run for president.
Appears to have likely took campaign donations from a donor who favored Hochul, then bailed out of appearing and giving a speech for Zeldin.
And is favored and supported by deep swamp rinos, GOPe, and hedgefunds, as witness by his endorsement by iow gop today.
So, who wouldn't want someone who lies to you, jerks you around, appears willing to backstab people for money, and is a swampy, rino politician?
