Fox’s firing of the most-watched host on cable news, Tucker Carlson, is still roiling Leftists and patriots alike, but now Carlson himself has said that it didn’t actually happen at all.
In a text message to the news analysis site 19FortyFive, Carlson said flatly: “I’m still employed by Fox.” This doesn’t mean, however, that all is forgiven and that his show will be back on the air Monday. On the contrary, it could hinder Carlson’s plans to take his truth-telling elsewhere.
In his message to 19FortyFive, Carlson was actually confirming what another former Fox host, Megyn Kelly, revealed on Thursday: “I want to, I think, break some news for you. Tucker Carlson hasn’t actually been fired. He’s still an employee of the Fox News Channel. What happened was, Suzanne Scott called him, she’s the CEO, on Monday, morning, and said, um, he was not going to be allowed to do any more shows, and that he had been kicked out of his company email, and now they’re going to have to negotiate an exit. Um, some reporting to me, uh, suggests that she said it’s going to be an amicable parting. Right? Isn’t it?” That would be nice, but Scott’s own behavior, if Kelly’s report is accurate, makes it more unlikely.

If Tucker Carlson was so peremptorily told that he wasn’t going to be allowed to do any more shows and couldn’t even access his company email, he couldn’t say a proper farewell either to those who watched his show or to his staff.

Maybe trying to get him to quit so they don’t have to pay out his contract?
They’ve got to bring him back. I think they will.
Very good and succinct reply, Wallace T.
Thank you for crafting it.
He can always quit...
Elon is also
a crony capitalist pal of XiJinBiden, and the CCP.
He’s just in a limited hangout drag dress.
>>>He can always quit...>>>
Yep, money or country, we’re gonna find out if Tucker has principles.
Fox is hoping that Carlson does accept a job offer somehwere. That way he forfeits the 40 million dollar contract he must be paid.
As long as Tucker has not overtly and consciously violated the lawful terms of his contract, Fox still has to pay him.
Maybe Fox has decided to put Tucker on ice until the contract expires?
Tucker, on his side of the contract, almost certainly promised not to publicly or privately criticize Fox or its employees.
Maybe Fox wants Tucker to agree to some new issue before they voluntarily release him from his contract?
My instincts say that Fox wants Tucker off the air, and if Tucker had violated his contract, Fox would have just fired him.
He’s being paid not to talk
FNC just wants to silence Carlson until the election is over. They don’t give a damn about their audience. I’m not surprised that some people are still watching FNC. They are of the mindless, single news source type.
Could TUCKER spend the next year being a guest on conservative shows?
No idea what his contract says
I thought it had been revealed pretty quickly that Carlson is still under contract with Fox and has not exactly been “fired” so this is not exactly “breaking news”. However, his show is no longer a part of their line-up and therefore he has basically been side-lined.
Carlson’s contract doesn’t end until December of 2024, so unless the attorneys can get something worked out prior to then, he is basically prevented from going to work at another news site until January of 2025.
This removes Carlson from the 2024 election reporting and commentary. Of course, the details depend upon his last signed contract. His attorneys are going to have to be brutal!
Carlson and Bongino were apparently the two loose cannon at FOX and the Board never knew what they were going to report on next. They had to reel them in and send a message to other show hosts that FOX is moving to further to the left and to remain at the station, those hosts should get with the program(ing).
This isn’t about money, it’s about power.
This isn’t about Fox, it’s about Blackrock.
This isn’t about Rupert Murdock, it’s about Klaus Schwab.
This isn’t about information, it’s about propaganda.
This isn’t about Tucker Carlson, it’s about Donald Trump.
More, much more than a measly 10 million dollar contract to Tucker was at stake, so he gets the axe.
I'm reminded of this scene from Network. Was it true then? It sure seems true today.
Arthur Jensen : You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Beale, and I won't have it! Is that clear? You think you've merely stopped a business deal. That is not the case! The Arabs have taken billions of dollars out of this country, and now they must put it back! It is ebb and flow, tidal gravity! It is ecological balance! You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations. There are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no third worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems, one vast and immane, interwoven, interacting, multivariate, multinational dominion of dollars. Petro-dollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars, reichmarks, rins, rubles, pounds, and shekels. It is the international system of currency which determines the totality of life on this planet. That is the natural order of things today. That is the atomic and subatomic and galactic structure of things today! And YOU have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and YOU... WILL... ATONE!
Am I getting through to you, Mr. Beale? You get up on your little twenty-one inch screen and howl about America and democracy. There is no America. There is no democracy. There is only IBM, and ITT, and AT&T, and DuPont, Dow, Union Carbide, and Exxon. Those are the nations of the world today. What do you think the Russians talk about in their councils of state, Karl Marx? They get out their linear programming charts, statistical decision theories, minimax solutions, and compute the price-cost probabilities of their transactions and investments, just like we do. We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies, Mr. Beale. The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable bylaws of business. The world is a business, Mr. Beale. It has been since man crawled out of the slime. And our children will live, Mr. Beale, to see that... perfect world... in which there's no war or famine, oppression or brutality. One vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock. All necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused. And I have chosen you, Mr. Beale, to preach this evangel.
Howard Beale : Why me?
Arthur Jensen : Because you're on television, dummy. Sixty million people watch you every night of the week, Monday through Friday.
Howard Beale : I have seen the face of God.
Arthur Jensen : You just might be right, Mr. Beale.
I would imagine it prevents him from monetizing his services.
I would be very surprised if it prevented him from speaking out on the issues.

RE: How much time is left on Tucker’s current contract?
Several FReepers have posted in this thread that his contract with Fox ends on December 2024.
That means he will be paid 6 figures NOT to talk. It also means his reporting and analysis will be a Non-factor in the coming Presidential elections ( unless he can get out of his contract ).
“I would imagine it prevents him from monetizing his services.
I would be very surprised if it prevented him from speaking out on the issues.”
I agree. His speech at the Heritage Foundation, the Saturday before his show was canceled, is evidence his contract allows him to make public speeches. If his freedom to speak out in public on issues is restricted, the restriction likely relates to disparaging Fox or its employees. Monetizing his services is also certainly a restriction. There may also be limits on his ability to be a guest on programming by non-Fox medial outlets.
