The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in January quietly updated its Guide for Aviation Medical Examiners (AMEs), allowing aviation doctors for the first time to give medical clearance to some pilots diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), a rare neurological disorder connected to certain COVID-19 vaccines.
The FAA made the change — along with October 2022 updates for electrocardiogram (EKG) test limits — without citing scientific evidence and while the agency has been operating without a permanent administrator since March 2022.
The FAA’s medical guidance appears to diverge from international standards.
These updates come amid an alarming uptick in incidences of pilots incapacitated by medical emergencies during flights, increasing numbers of near-collisions in the air and at airports and in-flight emergencies transmitted by pilots during flights in the U.S.

Me - my flying days ended in 2009 when I retired. Never again.
Guillain-Barré was one of those side effects. Pilots probably should not be flying commercial jets with Guillain-Barré
This is insane. A flare up means you have a paralyzed pilot. No control of extremities.
there is no doubt that “COVID19” (the name of a pandemic that never happened based on SARS COV2) is the biggest racketeering scam resulting in the biggest mass murder event in world history.
You don’t have ‘flare ups’. It takes a long time to recover for some folks, did for me, due to severe muscle weakness. Some people have a pretty quick recovery, back jogging etc. It just varies by individual, and needs to be judged on an individual basis. Any exposure to virus can cause GBS, I had an upper respiratory infection late ‘73, mine wasn’t related to any type of vaccine.

Prayers to you, a good friend of mine had it and nearly died. In his case He was told there is a chance it could back at any time that was at least 15 years ago. As you say case by case basis. My fear is it will not be case by case at all it will wide open.
