A look at some core facts and truth regarding the nation’s most popular rifle.
The AR-15 is the most popular rifle in America today. Estimates put the total of privately owned modern sporting rifles upwards of 20 million, which would clearly meet the “common use” standard the Supreme Court says qualifies weapons for protection under the Second Amendment. Yet because mass murderers like the “transgender” biological woman in Nashville sometimes choose this weapon for the commission of heinous evil, leftists relish in attributing that evil to the tool rather than the perpetrator.
So let’s focus for just a moment on the facts and the truth about the AR-15.
It is a relatively small-caliber but high-velocity semiautomatic rifle, which means it fires only one round for every trigger pull. It was developed in the late 1950s by Armalite, hence the AR designation, which does not stand for “assault rifle.”
A true assault rifle is something like the M4A1 carbine, which is a military service rifle with select-fire — i.e., fully automatic — capability. While the AR-15 and the M4 look similar, the function is different.
Fully automatic machine guns have been effectively banned since 1986, so, despite their prevalence in Hollywood’s violence-glorifying entertainment, few are actually “on the streets,” and virtually none are used in the commission of crimes.

Nice looking AR with Magpul furniture.
Good catch on the rifle picture, what is that sticker on the magazine?
They make a .40 S&W, as well.
I think David had a high-velocity rock.
You make an excellent point, although it doesn’t mean a hill o beans to the gun grabbers.
I know it’s a little off topic, but here’s an article I stumbled onto concerning the shooter:
https://boingboing.net/2023/03/28/before-school-shooting-in-nashville-shooter-warned-a-friend-who-tried-to-warn-police-but-was-ignored.html
I wonder what major news outlet is going to bring this to light.
And I keep seeing this “statistic” that there have been “128 mass shootings” so far this year.
How are mass shootings being defined by the MSM?
***All of these debates are folks trying to somehow define or create some “label” of what constitutes an evil gun.***
There is no such thing. It does not exist.
Stop looking for it, stop trying to create some “label” of what that might be, today.
Yesterday it was a pistol grip and bayonet lug, high capacity magazines before that, long ago it was so called “cop killer” ammo... The ideas of what constitutes an evil gun changes quicker than the environmentalist agenda!
The gun has become a symbol.
It has become a rallying point around which folks gather, no differently than in the past with flags and drums on the battlefield.
The question is simply if you’re willing to open Pandora’s box and go down the slippery slope of controlling what is a Constitutional right. But then again, name me one of the first ten amendments which hasn’t been abridged? The US Constitution is pretty much a joke at this point anyhow, shredded by a bureaucracy that justifies its existence by creating ever more rules and mechanisms to enforce these.
My suggestion, leave these modern symbols for the symbol minded.
Where is the limit? Area weapons. If you own or build something which can affect a large area, i.e. a large explosive device, chemical weapon, then there should be rules. But shy of that, I don’t care if your closet looks like Charlton Heston’s gun room: https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/attachments/world-firearms/135443d1283070924-charlton-heston-person-gun-vault-charleton-hestons-basement4.jpg?s=3fae7ae8d4a1eed26f809aa855ffdf02 (FYI, just please send me a private email and give me a tour if you do have a gun room like that!!!)
Lol!
Like it or not, the AR platform is problematic. In the hands of a competently trained person, it can rain havoc in short order. The only saving grace in most of these mass shootings is the kook doing the shooting is generally mentally/emotionally compromised in addition to inexperienced.
Indeed!
Well, she’s really in trouble, then.
Correct.
It is just another semi automaitic rifle. Not really that special.
I haven't a clue, but I'm sure its something to do with transgenderism. Or Trans Power?
Look at what it painted on it's S&W Shield EZ in 9x19:
Or 'love conquers all'? 😕
Liberals don’t like AR-15’s because they are black and don’t vote.
Jesus.
That is not an arm brace.
That’s an adjustable stock.
And I can’t tell about the barrel. You can’t see the muzzle.
But I doubt “it” paid 200 for an SBR permit.
When people ask me what caliber my AR is, my reply, “It’s just a .22.”
And an AR10 is only 2/3 as good!
