Three years ago was the first “It’s just the flu, bro” thread. The threads were daily for a year and a half or so, but now it is an annual update. For this annual update, like future updates, we must remember: 1. we told you so, and 2. the literal and broader side effects of lockdowns, masks and mandatory vaccines are continuing to appear.
Human fertility is down since all of this started. I am not sure how much is due to couples avoiding pregnancy due to fear and how much is due to the vaccines killing fetuses. Regardless, this is a devastating consequence as the human potential lost outweighs the lives lost due to Covid. Many people, however, tend not to cry for lives never created in the first place.
But I am not a negative person. So let’s focus for a bit on the benefits that came out of this fiasco: 1. many people get to work remote and can spend more time with their families 2. contactless delivery services more conveniently just drop off the food (matters to me!) 3. learned about many vitamins and minerals (C, Zinc, D, Quercitin, NAC, magnesium) that have a broader application than Covid mitigation/prevention 4. more people got red pilled, or maybe white pilled…not sure but they certainly won’t be taking the blue pill 5. we got realize that when the SHTF that Freerepublic is the only social media site that conservatives can rely

Indeed. I used to get one to two colds per year and over half turned into a very nasty, 12 week bronchitis. A year before COVID hit, the bronchitis turned into walking pneumonia and I thought I was a goner.
After starting the C, D, Z, Q and NAC protocol (plus Nigella Sativa), I have not had a single bronchial or respiratory infection. Just amazing. I do wash my hands a lot more, but I don’t avoid crowds.
A HUGE plus for me was the fact that our parks on the San Francisco Peninsula were all closed to the public for months. They closed parking lots and nearby on-street parking plus put the stupid yellow tape on all the benches. I simply parked a mile away and walked to the parks. I had the 1,400 acre Foothills Park in Palo Alto all to myself. Plus, there were NO airplanes in the sky overhead! I went there many times and never saw another living soul. It was the most wonderful and remarkable time.

We have also learned that the banned horse paste (Ivermectin) is not just anti-viral but is also anti-cancer.
Unfortunately, all the people on FR pushing the COVID fear narrative simply moved on to worshipping Ukraine, and advocating we spend all we can on that now.

Three years... we were over-the-top angry then; everything was raw. Still angry, but in a different way now.
Other positive unintended consequences:
Parents learned was was going on in kids’ schools, became activists, and are making changes.
In church, no more passing the offering plate, and no more “howdy and handshake time”.
We are less accepting of the industrial medical complex and learned to question everything and do research instead of blindly following.

I have to ask - is this thread safe and effective? Or should I cower somewhere?
My update - my company put in place a vaccine mandate with a “drop dead” date after which everyone unvaccinated or without an approved exemption would be considered voluntarily resigned. And they made the exemption process nearly impossible.
In a moment of unusual candidness some senior managers said they only expected a couple dozen folks to request exemptions (out of a company with 30k+ employees) and were shocked to get over five thousand.
So they hired a third party company to process (deny) all the exemptions and postponed the deadline. They told us we would hear from this third party some time in the next few weeks. After a few weeks they postponed the deadline again, and admitted it would be a few more weeks before the third party would contact us.
Then, out of the blue, they just blanket-granted all the exemptions. I think they weren’t processing the request, but were analyzing who they would lose if the fired all the requesters and realized that it was mostly the smart people that got things done.
Meanwhile, we are all still mostly working from home. And they have updated the employee handbook to remove the requirement.
As for the positive, my family discovered we liked hiking in the woods, and have been slowly discovering our state. And we are finally starting to be able to hike for an hour or two and not come across someone wearing a mask - although the number still wearing them in the woods is stunning.
