Trump lashes out at DeSantis, says he regrets his endorsement of him

Former President Donald Trump is intensifying his attacks on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, calling him disloyal and saying that his political career would have been over had he not endorsed his ultimately successful 2018 campaign.

“He was dead as a dog, he was a dead politician. He would have been working perhaps for a law firm or doing something else,” Trump told a small group of reporters aboard his plane on Monday afternoon en route to Iowa, where he was to make an appearance that evening.

Trump spent nearly ten minutes going after DeSantis, who is widely viewed as his most formidable challenger for the Republican nomination. The Florida governor, who is expected to launch his campaign following the end of the state’s legislative session in May, has been embarking on a swing of early primary states to promote his newly released memoir — including in Iowa, where he appeared on Friday.

"Donald as his VP."

No chance.

Who the hell would trust The Don behind you?

He is salivating for the job. This is the guy who foisted the SwampJab upon America and the world - strictly for votes. Who knows what he'd do in that position.

“ I am willing to pay if necessary, to watch the primary debates. RDS will be insulted like he has never before. I can’t wait his responses to Trump after being called deSanctimonious and other doosies. “

Really?? Insults and goofy name-calling is how we should proceed?

DeSantis must be something really special - a unique, once in a generation kind of political leader - for so many people to turn on Trump over his criticisms of DeSantis. Or maybe those doing so, never liked Trump to begin with, and their support of Trump was always tenuous at best.

Trump’s ability to challenge and shift the paradigms that dominated GOP thought for decades and his ability to persevere in the face of unprecedented pushback from the Uniparty, put him on a level DeSantis couldn’t hope to attain. Trump has challenged the D.C. establishment in a way no other President has, and has faced unprecedented pushback, as a result. The Desantis lovers are rallying around a governor who’s had a friendly legislature and little pushback and pretending that what he’s accomplished in Florida proves he’s capable of leadership on the national level. These people are gullible and have learned nothing, from the past 6 years, it seems. They’re living through a battle with an enemy few of us knew existed, six years ago (i.e. the deep state) and want to go back to “the good old days” as if nothing has changed. They want to go back to a time of judging a candidate superficially, judging him by how conservative he sounds, and ignoring the people in the background who are really pulling his strings.

Nope DeSantis is the huge loser.. If he thinks he can do anything besides promoting himself. He is about to lose 75% of the Republican base and split the party.. with zero percent chance of winning the primary.. Sorry to those who believe otherwise.

“Ask desantis what he thinks about Jan 6th. Let’s see the cut of his Jeb, I mean jib.”

No need to ask. He’s been on record there for a long time.

“And it was all so unnecessary, because DeSantis could have positioned himself perfectly as a replacement nominee in 2024 or as the overwhelming party favorite in 2028. That’s how I see it.”

BINGO. The more I read the anti-Trump, pro-DeSantis comments on these threads, the more I am turning against DeSantis, as I feel exactly as you do, that DeSantis is the one who is dividing the Pub Party by his blatant disloyalty to the guy who “brung him to the dance”, a phrase used by Ronald Reagan.

There would be no Gov DeSantis were it not for Trump’s crucial backing when DeSantis was on the verge of losing to a socialist, deranged opponent (think Doc Oz vs. loser Fetterman, and now that depressed nutcase is now in office).

When the race between DeSantis and his opponent hung in the balance, Trump pulled DeSantis over the finish line. Unfortunately with Fetterman the anti-Trump forces against Oz (and that means so many of you anti-Trumpers on this thread) succeeded in derailing Oz and now PA and the country is stuck with Fetterman, and now you are still anti-Trump to the point of disrupting the upcoming primary. Trump could be kissing DeSantis’ derriere now and you still would be anti-Trump because you just don’t like his “style”, regardless of his great policies with few missteps.

Luckily you didn’t succeed in derailing DeSantis vs. the socialist, but here you are trying again to derail Trump this time by supporting the very man whose election to Gov of FL Trump saved. I am disgusted; and you myopic Trump trashers, along with an ungrateful and ambitious DeSantis who is backed by Deep State, RINO, Establishment, Globalist financiers and Jeb Bush, and George Soros as subterfuge, and you can’t deny that, will ruin our Party’s chances to get rid of Biden, the very man that stole the presidential election from Trump.

Trump’s MAGA supporters are never going to choose DeSantis over Trump, the core of the Party is with him, DeSantis will never win the primary, and he is diminishing his chances for 2028 by his run against Trump this time around.

Fie on all of you Trump trashers; you are a bunch of ungrateful wretches in my book, going after one of the best Presidents we have ever had, and supporting a man whose ambitions just couldn’t wait as he is sticking the stiletto in Trump’s back. DeSantis is entranced by the siren song of Rupert Murdoch/Fox News backing of him to run against Trump because they want Trump gone now as they are foreign globalists, as well as with the Deep State military establishment types who prefer Biden’s war policy re Ukraine/China rather than that of Trump. Et tu Brut? I guess it must be the Italian in DeSantis coming out to allow for such disloyalty.

I live in FL, I liked DeSantis up until now, he has been a good Governor, but he is now ruining my desire to support him in 2028 much less 2024 because he can’t contain his ambition and if he wins, he will be beholden to those financiers who do not have America’s best interests in mind by a long shot.

DeSantis also will not, were he to end up President, seek investigation of the stolen 2020 election, nor the corrupt impeachment efforts against Trump by Biden and the Dems, the countless use of prosecutors in blue states bringing up phony charges against Trump to derail his run for a second term as President, the raid on Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s home, the weaponization of the Justice Dept, FBI, CIA and other key departments of Gov’t, and the alleged Jan 6th “insurrection”. While blaming all the chaos in our country that they created on Trump. And you all fall for it. Trump creates too much chaos, DeSantis won’t, you say. Fools all, and an inability to see what the true corrupt enemy ginned up to cause that chaos. And mark my words, in due time, after they eliminate Trump if they can, they will go after DeSantis just as viciously, with tooth and tong.

Pursuing justice for Trump will not happen, will be swept under the rug, and the criminals who pursued Trump never brought to justice, because DeSantis has no skin in that game and will not pursue it. I want revenge, I want Trump to be vindicated and I want him to be my retribution.

Like Ron DeSantis stabbing Trump in the back?

“However I know of many people who have supported Trump who have been frustrated and angry at what looks like Trump’s desperation to get the spotlight.”

Trump has barely been out on the campaign trail until now when DeSantis is out on the stump doing that which you accuse Trump of doing, seeking the stoplight. Geez.

Trump nice to Desantis? seriously? And there is the problem. There is a group of republicans who will never vote for Trump and another group
who will never vote for anyone else
We are doomed in 24 as long as Trump is in the race. I suppose I would vote for him if he was the nominee - with about as much enthusiasm as I voted for McCain. Trump has become a divisive figure that will give the election to the democrats - they won’t even have to spend the effort to cheat
It’s too bad. He was a good president. He could have been a great one if he could have controlled his ego and not shot himself in the foot on social
media every time he did something well . And his personnel choices were disastrous

And that thirst for revenge and vindication will sink the conservative movement. The best revenge is to elect a solid conservative who will govern effectively not a raving egoist who has become a cartoon of himself. The hatred he has engendered in all but his true believers will never allow him to win an election and will take down all who are associated with him.

He got 74,000,000 votes in 2020. Much, much more than any republican or democrat president before him. Maybe he has lost some voters but things are starting to get really bad now. 2023-2024 is going to be a shit show. He will win over some new voters and keep a lot of the old ones. If things get bad enough they may actually turn the cheat machine off and let him win. That’s doubtful though.

You seem to dislike the guy so much. You really should consider not voting for him. Hell, I would never vote for McCain or Romney again. I really regret voting for them. Don’t do something that you’ll regret later. Hell, I can’t see myself voting for DeSantis. I really despise that little backstabber and pretender.

I got in an argument with one of my sons about DeSantis. He said DeSantis was against homosexual people. I said that ‘Dont Say Gay’ law isn’t named that. That is woke BS. The law is called ‘Parental Rights in Education.’ He refused to listen to me. I tried telling my other son about it. Now I know where first son learned his woke BS. Sigh.

Does any of this really matter? The Dems have gotten away with at least two if not three rigged (2 midterms/ 1 general) elections since 2018. They will never allow a non Democrat candidate to win an election ever again.

At this point we are just waiting for the USA to become a province of the CCP.
