During the 2022 Illinois Republican Primary, IL GOP leaders played favorites with their preferred list of so-called “establishment” candidates – even funding mailers that viciously attacked their conservative grassroots opponents.
And in exclusive audio obtained by Illinois Review, IL GOP chairman Don Tracy, during a meeting with conservative leaders in July, admits that the Richard Irvin campaign for governor was allowed to use the IL GOP postage discount for mailers – a perk not afforded to other candidates in the governor’s race.
But when it comes to supporting conservative school board candidates who are running in the upcoming April 4th election, the IL GOP is silent – despite messages from candidates to Republican leaders asking for help in the form of infrastructure support, walk lists and voter data.
And candidates have confirmed that IL GOP leaders replied to emails asking for help with messages that included,
“Sorry, we can’t help you.”

The Republican Party is not going to solve our problems.
My guess, based on what I have seen from the Uniparty since 1964 is, they do not want to spend their campaign money on undesirable candidates.
America Firsters, MAGA, Constitutionalist, you know the undesirables.
The Illinois GOP is basically worthless.
PLEASE, Don’t Burst my BUBBLE!! LOL!
TRUE! I say they are DEMOCRATS with (R) after their names.
There is no Illinois Republican Party and there hasn’t been for over 20 years.
L
PLEASE, tell me something I don’t already know.
“The Illinois GOP is basically worthless.”
They have Speaker Bob Michel(From IL) disease. It is called MINORITY-ITIS where you bend to the left hoping you might find favor with the entrenched power.
Agree 100%.
Surprise! The GOP is part of the deep state.
NO, They are not that smart!!
And Minority Leader Tony Mc Combie got 119,900 from the Teachers UNION. Come on TONY! Is that money paid to you to keep you quiet as it relates to everything Schools and School Children? Breaking: Powerful Teachers Union That Supported Mandates, Helped Write Sex Education Standards, Donated to Illinois Republicans LEST WE FORGET! The National Education Association – an organization whose state association in Illinois endorsed Democrat Gov. JB Pritzker for governor and Democrat Kwame Raoul for attorney general; promoted mandates during the pandemic, and helped write the controversial sex education standards, has donated more than $1.5 million to Illinois House and Senate Republicans since the start of the pandemic through their political action committee, Illinois PAC for Education (IPACE).
Wicked.
There hasn’t been a Republican party, other than in name only since Big Jim Thompson. Edgar doesn’t count and George Ryan was a murderous crook who sold CDL’s for campaign cash, costing 8 of the 9 Willis family children their lives in a fiery death caused by an illegal alien who bought his CDL.
Yes, I still remember their names too.
“The Republican Party is not going to solve our problems.”
___
A very simple, correct, and succinct statement. They are not and that has been proven by their past actions. The Republican party still thinks Romney would be the perfect candidate for President. They abandoned Trump and joined in the left on their attacks and investigations against him. All while at the same time, ignoring the obvious corruption of Biden, et al.
Nope, the GOP is not the conservatives’ friend. As they promote anyone but Trump, they have failed to come up with a plan to “deal” with Trump supporters. They expect us to get in line to vote for whoever they designate as the 2024 nominee. They will, of course, get the democrat and media’s approval before promoting that person. The GOP establishment always listens to the advice from the left as to candidates, proposed policy, etc, before they listen to the party base.
The GOP will not win another federal election until they start listening to those that have loyally voting for them for decades based on their false promises. Conservatives have given them chance after chance and been betrayed each time. I suspect that enough conservatives are tired of that game that they will finally just say, “Enough, just let it burn down”.
Like any organization from the family upward to billion-dollar companies, the GOP looks out for itself.
The greater good is not a consideration.
No party and no election can save the remains of the American republic.
