— I went to the Asbury University Awakening movement and interviewed students for three days to do a journalistic deep dive on what we can learn from this youth phenomenon. When you witness tens of thousands of young people from all over America hold a non-stop event (sometimes all night) for two weeks, it calls for our attention. What I found greatly inspired me and filled me with pride for America’s younger generation.
Quick history of awakening movements and their impact on America
America has experienced religious awakening movements in the past. The first two so-called Great Awakenings created a burst of patriotism, national identity, and liberty that helped play a role in launching the Revolutionary War.
Another similar religious movement gave birth to the abolition of slavery.
Yet, another awakening movement led to the national prohibition of alcohol with the 18th Amendment (later repealed in 1933).
All people of both religious and secular philosophies should pay close attention to religious awakening movements to see what is happening, where it may go and what issues they may spark. The Asbury movement has already caught fire among eight college campuses.
What started the Asbury awakening.
The Asbury University awakening movement started during a routine 10 a.m. mandatory student chapel service. The sermon was given by a soccer coach who found himself unprepared, so he took the opportunity to speak unscripted from the heart on very personal, painful, and honest matters. He ended by asking people who were hurting to remain after the service for prayer. Nineteen students stayed. They began to share their struggles with each other, pray, and sing together. It was so powerful they couldn’t stop. They continued to pray and sing all afternoon. Soon, word spread on campus, and people flooded to the chapel...

Not all the younger kids of today are bad. I know, I have two of them.
Awakening to what?
God bless you. I’ve read your posts over the years, good work doing job #1.
Parents have so much of an influence on kids, and too many have allowed “government” to raise their kids.
I’ve got 4 kids from 21 down to 10. The older 2 are kicking butt and taking names. So proud of them. 1 in HS is just starting a job that may lead into an excellent future. Great work ethics. The 10 YO has a heart of gold. Well on the path.
Parents. 2 of them. Together. Raising children with morals and a faith in God.
We have hope.
Stolen from some website:
“A spiritual awakening is, generally speaking, a newfound awareness of a spiritual reality. A spiritual awakening can be gradual or rapid, and it can mean different things to different people.”
Skeptics are part of revival:
Acts 2
12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”
13 Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”
Still doesn’t say what that new “spiritual reality” is.
I’m trying to decide whether it’s something I should cheer for or boo.
I think this is an awakening to God’s existence in this world. They’ll discover that it will take work to maintain that connection, but this at least gets them started.
So it starts—the Great Revival in America. Long Overdue. Christ will once again be hailed but not at the established churches. This new wave will have young people see the light! I believe Revival tents are coming! and the word of God preached with millions of people being saved. Today, that is a radical thing—a rejection of godless life.
We need faith in the Triune God—NOT in “Gen Z”!!!!
While some Gen Z’s are at revivals—or in Orthodox Churches—others are yowling for biden, or for feminazi and LGBT revenge against “old white males”!! They are going along wth Marxist professors to ruin once-great universities!!!!
Lord save all us sinners—Gen Z and older!! AMEN!!!!
Well I hope it’s not the word of God as interpreted by this Marxist pope and many “progressive” protestant denominations.
What are their values and where do they stand on wokeism?
True. Faith should only be in the Lord. Everyone else is fallible & likely to disappoint us.
The only awakening I’ve heard is Q Anon’s great awakening, though I haven’t any idea on its meaning. Maybe somebody will explain.
praise God!
Eyewitness accounts that I am seeing testify to this: this is not an Awakening this is not a revival. At least not in the biblical sense. People are going to it for an experience and not from it to preach the gospel, to testify in Jesus name, witness a personal testimony of salvation, and reach the Lost. The Holy Spirit is being exalted for an experience and not to lift up Jesus Christ. Reports that lgbtq and homosexual activists are leading many of the services especially for the first eight days. Fails the test of biblical orthodoxy.
Indeed, I was seeing the same (LGTBBQETC) were a big part of this ‘happening’.
Meh. Too many False Prophecies & the current pope dude is a total loser.
You’re commingling two meanings or strengths of the word ‘faith’. The much weaker, everyday form applied to other humans or human movements is separate from the STRONG religious meaning..
