Two years ago today - February 17th 2021 - I was getting ready for another guest-hosting stint on the EIB Network when my friend Kraig Kitchin, the founder of Premiere Radio Networks and (since Kit Carson's death) Rush's acting "chief of staff", telephoned with devastating news: a year after his diagnosis of advanced lung cancer, Rush had died that morning. We had all known, since the day he announced his condition, how the story ends - but he had fought against it so hard just to be here for tomorrow's show, or the day after that, the news still came like a gut-punch out of the blue. I miss him and his wisdom and generosity on this day above all others.
As I suggested that morning, I wasn't sure how much of the medium - AM talk radio - would survive without him. And so, I think, it is proving. Which is a big problem for conservative ideas and their place in the wider world.

~So, on this mournful anniversary, see you back here at 3pm EST/8pm GMT. If you have no desire to join The Mark Steyn Club, no worries, as they say in Oz: We seek no unwilling members - and as always the show is free to listen to, so we hope you'll want to tune in.

Jeez. I miss that guy.
At the time of his death Rush’s best ‘current’ replacement was Mark Steyn.
I don’t know why they chose to pick the two clowns who replaced him. Dumbfounded.
I will listen to Mark
hard to believe it has been 2 years.
I miss you Rush!
I thought Mark was the best guest host for Rush. I believe he would have been better than either of the two shows that replaced him. Some commentators here speculated that it was Mark’s British accent that caused him to be passed over for the job, if so, it was terribly short sighted.
I was very happy to see President Trump award him the Medal of Freedom
Even more so considering how things played out.
RIP
I wonder what he'd think about those balloons?
I found Rush on a faint local AM radio station back when Iraq invaded Kuwait. I listened pretty much every day since.
RIP Rush, I hope you have a Golden EIB Microphone in Heaven.
I have to find my radio. Haven’t turned it on since Rush passed.
You don’t know what you’ve got til’ it’s gone. I really miss Rush Limbaugh’s show. The two gentlemen who have taken over are just too “milk toast” for me.....
Steyn should’ve been Rush replacement no question of that to me I just don’t like the other two guys as well and I’ve quit listening to them they are not terribly informed although the Yankee kid seems to be smarter than the southern Lawyer/sports fan
Something happened between Mark Levin and Mark S I don’t know the details but I think Levin holds a grudge
I am amazed at times about the business conflict within so-called conservative punditry in the media and with podcast like the latest conflict between the daily wire and the Crowder fellow this kind of stuff goes on all the time it’s about the money and that is why they are so easily compromised by the forces that influence them the money and the need for access the need for access was probably Rush Limbaugh‘s Achilles’ heel that is a fact he probably could’ve used a better research department at times it seemed like to me but don’t get me wrong Rush was my favorite of all time no question about the guy could hold your attention and Mark Stein does a good job of that too not many people can do that
These days I usually listen to the Duran and some daily wire podcast usually Michael Knowles or Matt Walsh and a lot of other podcast that offer alternative conservative or libertarian viewpoint
My daily dose is Alexander Mercurius in London I think his perception of Geo politics is Honest
I drive around all day so I have a lot of time to listen basically anyhow I’m glad to hear Mark S doing this I look forward to it
‘Milk toast’ is exactly my reaction to them. Also I’m getting paranoid in my old age and anyone who’s credentials include ‘CIA’ raises my DS suspicions...
I would not call them clowns but they are milquetoast and you are correct Mark was the best choice
Rush was close to Mark Levin
Mark Levin and Steyn dislike each other
I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it maybe Steyn did just not want to manage a three hour show every day by himself
I listen to Bongino on a different network
Who would suspect like most people with a brain do that these balloons move very well have not been spy balloons actually why in the hell would a country with 100 satellites looking at us all day every day use a wind driven no controllable direction other than the jetstream balloon to spy
It’s follow the shiny object literally to distract people
So much has been disclosed and become public knowledge search Russia’s death about the deep state security apparatus and technology oligarchy being used against us Weaponized
I do not think rush had a full grasp of that he always had 1 foot inside of the republican establishment I think he did that for access
Rush wasn’t perfect, but there was only ONE Rush Limbaugh.
No one can “replace” him. Why try?
I used to like Mark Steyn until he went totally nuts against so-called birthers.
I apologize for the voice to text gobbledygook
I try
The little faggot hipsters in Cupertino refuse to make software that recognizes a southern accent I think they do this on purpose
When I change my voice and talk like a little Twink it picks up every word
A better use for a balloon would be to deliver a payload of some sort. Spy Satellites these days can read the date on a dime. Don't be fooled by the blurry photos they release for human consumption.
