It was January 29, 2023, the first morning at sea of our Celebrity Apex cruise to the Eastern Caribbean with the Steve Kane Radio Show group and I was digging in to my beloved smoked salmon in the Ocean View Café. Suddenly my wife's eyes widened dramatically and her mouth dropped open in astonishment as she looked past my shoulder. I turned to look and what I saw was easily the most BRILLIANT rainbow I have ever seen. Yes, I also saw a rainbow during our Celebrity Equinox cruise to the Southern Caribbean back in September but this latest rainbow was by far much more BRILLIANT plus it lasted much longer.

p.s. And, yes, it did bring us good luck.

There are some pretty good rainbows during the summer monsoon season in Arizona, too. Almost every rainbow is at least partially doubled if you look carefully, but full doubles (horizon to horizon) are rare.

In the air, too. It was probably the splash from the wake that created the water spray making the rainbow.

That is spectacular. I traveled to South America a lot in the 70s for business and often flew over the Caribbean. I still remember the incredibly spectacular clouds and sunrises there. I have never been to any Caribbean islands, though. It’s still on my bucket list.
