Interesting. Very scary but still interesting.
Well, I think that’s the popular understanding.🙂
The more I see of ChatGPT the more I think it’s just the next FTX ...
“Safe and effective.”
What an idjit. EVERYONE knows you die when your molecules are destroyed and replicated.
Just don’t ask it about Zero or Trump.
GIGO.
Ask a follow up question: Does the transporter also transport the soul?
What is disassembling everyone down to the molecular level?
Sounds like killing to me. Talk about Newspeak.
Oh, yeah, Joe got chomped up by the shark, but we’ll reassemble his parts...after we gut the shark, but Joe ain’t dead.
I wanted to ask a question but it demands a phone number:
Can men and women change their chromosomes after gender re-assigment surgery?
CGP Grey argues that for the Star Trek transporter to not be a murder-cloning device, the soul has to exist separate from the body.

For materialistic atheists this gets uncomfortably close to the Judeo-Christian view.
pls ask it what are the benefits of blacks AND whites working together...
“In the Star Trek franchise, the transporter is generally considered a safe and reliable technology, and it is widely used for transportation purposes.”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
YEAH, RIGHT! TELL THAT TO ANDRE DELAMBRE, THE CANADIAN GENIUS WHO PIONEERED TELEPORTATION BACK IN THE LATE 1950’S! HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR STAR TREK! HAD HIS NOTEBOOKS NOT BEEN FOUND...
HOW SOON WE FORGET!
(I’M NOT SHOUTING. EYE PROBLEMS)
So, the answer from ChatGPT would mean that the transporter violates a very important law in Quantum Mechanics called the “no broadcast” principle which extends the “no clone” principle. The qbits of the sender and the qbits of the receiver can never be in identical states at the same time which would be needed to preserve the concept of “identity”.
Teleportation is done in the lab using entangled particles that are “connected” by their probability matrix, but you can’t teleport one particle. One particle has to be realized at each end of the experiment.
If the teleporter destroyed (killed) the entangled sender qbits after the entangled receiver qbits were recovered, it would be a totally new identity which is allowed by QM. This was the theme of a great move, “The Prestige”, which showed how Nikola Tesla would have developed the process for a magician. Hint: It didn’t end well for the sender.
Bones knew...
I remember an episode where people were reduced to small cubes of minerals but were brought back to life.
It is definitely not a Trekkie. A Trekkie answer would be ..of course not, unless transporting a red shirt character.
Ask it if extraterrestrial beings have been visiting earth.......
How is this such a technological breakthrough again?
Because all I see is "Ask Jeeves" with less variety of information.
Well, that’s a relief! Maybe. Kinda. Sorta!
If anyone missed the movie ‘Moon’ with Sam Rockwell, treat your fine self.
“Astronaut Sam Bell has a quintessentially personal encounter toward the end of his three-year stint on the Moon, where he, working alongside his computer, GERTY, sends back to Earth parcels of a resource that has helped diminish our planet’s power problems.”

The Star Trek transporter idea came up at a meeting when they were trying to figure out how to cut production costs and one of the things that came up was to s3crsp a shuttle craft and production costs for those particular scenes, so they came up with the transporter as a cost effective substitute.
