Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

“Washington has sent Tokyo an official request “

I don’t see how Japan can say no.

Japan is in China’s crosshairs.

Washington has sent Tokyo an official request to station hypersonic LRHW missiles on the Japanese Islands in order to counter the regional missile gap in relation to China

Okinawa would be a great place for the initial deployment.

Most people do not understand the technical challenges associated with hypersonic speeds.

Speed is not the challenge.

The challenge is terminal guidance at hypersonic speeds.

Assume, for this and future discussions, that the purpose of hypersonic missiles is to attack & sink moving targets at sea using a conventional warhead.

When flying at hypersonic speeds, the missile is flying blind and deaf...navigating by INS to lat/lon coordinates.

So, how does the missile locate and kill the target? That's the question.

These initial missiles are probably land attack only, highly accurate, and no one will be able to shoot them down.

Comments please.

Amusing to see the Atlantic quoted with real respect here on Free Republic! Even before the NeoCon takeover (when Steve Job's widow bought the magazine and installed new editors) they were apologists for the Deep State and Leftism.

But they moved into full NeverTrumpism in the last five years, and are showing no signs of moderating.

It's amusing to see so many Freepers embracing Deep State propagandists and Biden's policies. The same people who ran the fist Trump impeachment (not the same kind of people, but actually the same individuals) - are all in on this Ukraine war.

It apparently makes no difference to these Freepers what happened in the past, who was bribing Biden, who was lying to Congress about Trump, which secret police organization was trying to engineer a coup d'etat in the USA as well and successfully engineering one in the Ukraine.

By the way: what a rogue's gallery the authors of the cover stories on those Atlantic covers make up:

The Ukraine conflict has opened up huge rifts between conservatives. Most of the really virulant Never Trumpers left the Conservative movement, left the GOP, and if they were ever on Free Republic left here early in Trump's presidency. So, I assumed that we were a pretty united group here by 2020.

Not so! This war has shown us that many Freepers are willing to make common cause with the likes of those people listed above, who are some really creepy Leftists and some of the worst trash of the Bush administration. Now they have turned over (or gone home) and become leftists (and in many cases Democrats).

"Politics makes strange bedfellows" the old saying goes, but I never expected to see so many Freepers sleeping with our political ememies.

What's next? Support Romney for President again: because Trump is rapidly moving to the "end the stupid Ukrainin war" column, and if that's you main motivation these days -- how can Trump be your man?

Nikki Haley? Lindsey Graham? Which Ukraine-loving war-supporting RINO are you guys going to support in 2024 now?

(It's going to be an ugly primary season on Free Republic! Maybe worse than 2016, when so many sore-loser Ted Cruz supporters left the platform out of disgust with the overwhelming Trump support here.). All part of the Circle of Freeper Life, I guess.

Muh Russia Bad!

Muh Putin = Hitler!

Too bad.

"The commander of the GRU/GU's 14th Spetsnaz Brigade, Colonel Sergey Polyakov, was reportedly killed on the night of February 2-3 in Donetsk Oblast."

"I want to establish myself as pro-Trump when I'm really not, by ripping The Atlantic (c'mon, man) as some ridiculously fakeass way to establish my pro-Trump credentials see, see?"

F-ck off.

No, I'm serious, go out and play in the highway, Putlim.

"Woo look at me, I'm crossing the ro-- *WHAP*"

"We're watching a holocaust. We're watching something that I've never seen before. [Russia] is blowing up buildings, with children, with women, with professionals, with people, just people, they're blowing up indiscriminately. They're just shooting massive missiles and rockets into these buildings and everybody is dying."

"The numbers are far worse than what you're seeing on television. I don't know if they [are] keeping them down. When you see buildings being blown up and then they say one person died? Give me a break. Many people are dying and we're allowing this to happen."

"They have to stop it and they have to stop it now, but they don't respect the United States, and the United States is not doing anything about it. This is a holocaust, this is a horrible thing that's happening and you see it on television every night."

Today (5 Feb) a new EU import ban on refined petroleum products (like diesel fuel) from Russia goes into effect, along with a price cap mechanism for countries outside of the EU.

The price cap mechanism on crude oil (imposed in December) has seemed to work so far, in reducing Russian revenues. It will be even harder to sell refined products to China or India than it was for crude oil, because they are exporters of refined products, rather than importers – it is cheaper for them to buy crude and refine it themselves. They might buy more crude from Russia and let their refined products smuggle their way back to Europe, but that would still be significantly less profitable for Russia. The net result is estimated to be about another $50 Million or more per day of lost revenue to Russia.

The 10th round of sanctions is being prepared for the anniversary of the invasion, on 24 February.

Brent crude dipped below $80 today.

Another fun fact about these hypersonic LRHW missiles - they are contained within, and launched from, what looks like standard shipping containers.

Other intermediate range weapons are being “containerized” as well, and they are destined to proliferate around China, like mushrooms after the rain. Everyone they threaten (which is basically all their neighbors) will want them.

Why am I not surprised?

“Swiss media report that declassified documents indicate Patriarch Kirill, codenamed “Mikhailov,” was a KGB intelligence agent in the 1970s while serving as the Russian Orthodox Church’s representative to the World Council of Churches (WCC) in Geneva.”

“Okinawa would be a great place for the initial deployment.”

The Marines in PACOM are structuring and training to fan out quickly across swathes of the Pacific, and stealthily deploy such missiles as area denial weapons.

They are going to be hard for China to target. Highly mobile, low signature.

“Patriarch Kirill, codenamed “Mikhailov,” was a KGB intelligence agent”

Otherwise, he would not have the job.

War makes “strange bedfellows”. Much like, say, the Polish government (more based than any Trump supporter) and the EU bureaucracy. Or Churchill and Stalin.

Trump scares the hell out of deep staters. More than any other prominent individual I can think of. I think that is for one main reason. Trump does not care about making money in DC, unlike Joe Biden who is a multi-millionaire without even running a lemonade stand.

You, to me: "F-ck off."

Rules (right below the box you post in, every time: Please: NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts.

You're not supposed to talk that way here, even using punctuation in place of vowels. Please desist with your profanity.

My attack on the Atlantic as a source of opinion-making is far from "fakeass".

I admire Trump, and I admire Trump supporters. I voted for him every chance I had (4 times, 2 primaries, 2 generals).

I'll definately vote for him if he wins the nomination again. I'm not sure if I will vote for him in the primary though - it will depend what other candidates say and who they are. I might be persuaded by aother GOPer.

What I won't ever do is support a GOP establishment candidate who is aligned with the NeoCons. They are a pox on the GOP. I'm very happy that most of them have moved on, and are now junior memebers of the Leftist/Democrat Party coalition.

What I was getting at is that a lot of people here are supporting Biden, Nuland and Blinken in the disastrous USA engineered War in Ukraine. (And a lot aren't).

So there is a lot of division here, unlike a couple of years ago. Your toxic post to me is proving my point.

The Japanese Navy will no doubt also buy some SM-6 blk 1b, that will not only have some capability to intercept hypersonic weapons, but doubles as a hypersonic precision strike missile itself, including against ships.

An attack without tanks bmps and SPA would be suicide an attack with tanks bmps and SPG. will result in them being destroyed

The Russians have manpower such as it is but that will not help and out in the open the NLAWS and esp javelins who have the range will have a field day. Throw in himars and Excaliburs and the Russians can have their battle of the bulge but the results will be the same

Putin is looking for the big win but even bakmut is not a strategic victory. He is playing to RT and the public back home. It will not work
