President Trump: DeSantis Running in 2024 Would Be ‘A Great Act of Disloyalty’
The Gateway Pundit ^ | January 29, 2023 | Cassandra McDonald

Former President Donald Trump did not hold back when asked about the possibility of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis running for the White House in 2024.

Trump, who is the only Republican to announce a campaign, said that it would be a “great act of disloyalty” if the governor challenges him.

Trump held campaign events in New Hampshire and South Carolina on Saturday and sat down with the Associated Press for an interview afterward.

The outlet pointed out that there are a growing number of potential challengers, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

Trump commented on DeSantis specifically, taking credit for his win in Florida in 2018 by endorsing him.

“If he runs, that’s fine. I’m way up in the polls,” Trump said. “He’s going to have to do what he wants to do, but he may run. I do think it would be a great act of disloyalty because, you know, I got him in. He had no chance. His political life was over.”

I totally agree with President Trump. DeSantis would be doing Trump a disservice after Trump had to step in and rescue him from being beaten by the male prostitute loving Andrew Gillum for Florida's governorship.

Asking DeSantis to be your VP would be a great act of unity.

Watch the NeverTrumpers here come out from the woodwork.

They’ll claim that they supported Trump in the past (sure they did, when the opponent was Skunk Cabbage or Biden), but now cannot support him.

LOL!

Please. What is to be gained by saying the loyalty crap? It’s politics. Trump said it’s fine if Desantis runs, but he couldn’t leave it at that. If Trump runs I’ll vote for him (if I vote) but that comment is stupid.

Trump is disloyal to America for assuming anyone owes him anything after his losses in 2020 and 2022. In America we don’t do coronations.

If he’s afraid to compete he needs to bow out otherwise shut up about potential opponents in his party and focus on giving the American people a reason to trust him and vote for him.

Trump demands loyalty to himself. Loyalty should be to the United States and that the best person for the job be president.

It isn't personal. DeSantis is better for this position than Trump is in every measure.

so now we can only have one candidate?....according to Trump.

Another rfeason I'm hoping DeSantis or Pompeo will take the reins. We need the change. I prefer Pompeo...he just knows more about foreign politics...something DeSsntis is lacking. DeSaqntis will make a great VP.

Trump is all about self sabotage. It’s why he lost in 2020, not “the steal” BS.

Why doesn’t Trump give a positive spin: “Desantis is a great governor and I’m proud of him. When I win , I want him as my attorney general”???

All these demands for personal loyalty make a trump look like he’s just out for himself, not for a CAUSE that is greater than himself. Desantis as AG would help him advance a CAUSE

Asking DeSantis to be your VP would be a great act of unity.

DeSantis isn't going to torpedo his political career by attached himself to Trump's quixotic crusade to return to the White House.

Plus, Trump would never ask him in the first place. Trump wants a supplicant for VP, not someone who overshadows him in character and competence.

\———————————————
Please rethink that. You are just repeating talking points from the media.

Trump is loyal to our heritage. I have seen nothing to change that.

Loyalty to Trump is loyalty to the mission.

We need a great Attorney General more than we need a great VP. VP is a nothing job (as long as the POTUS stays healthy). AG is where the power is to fight the deep state. Desantis for AG.

"...it would be a great act of disloyalty..."

Sorry, Donald. I love ya' and I'd love to vote for you again, but the voters get to decide who runs for President, not you.

Trump needs to get a reality check. In 2018, Republicans did spectacularly badly, thanks to him. Yes, it would’ve been bad for DeSantis to have Trump clumsily, sloppily drag the Republican brand through endless piles of sh!+ and THEN turn and attack DeSantis. But a Republican president siding with a Republican governor candidate in a giant, purple state is nothing unusual that earns a debt of gratitude. Trump should’ve learned from his disastrous interview with then FBI chief James Comey that sucking up to someone isn’t loyalty. Fighting hard together to win is loyalty.

Loyalty to Trump is loyalty to the mission.

Then Trump should bow out and endorse Ron DeSantis who is in a far better position to actually be elected president than Trump is.

"The outlet pointed out that there are a growing number of potential challengers, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley."

LOL. Pence and Haley? The Outlet is pretty generous with that term, "Challenger."

He’s really hung up on this “loyalty” thing. DeSantis has his own career to manage. And his own belief on what’s best for America. He does not exist to be Trump’s supporter, and Trump needs to learn this. He’s constantly complaining about who is
disloyal” but never comprehends kiss his butt is not their job.
