Idaho quadruple murder suspect Bryan Kohberger’s public defender, Anne Taylor, also represented the victims’ parents.
.... Snip....
Anne Taylor was assigned to the case since the four public defenders in Latah County were unable to represent Kohberger for one reason or another.
It turns out Anne Taylor previously represented parents of two of the murder victims.
Anne Taylor represented Xana Kernodle’s mother, Cara Northington, in a drug possession case.
Cara Northingon said she feels “betrayed” after Anne Taylor abruptly withdrew from her case earlier this month.
Anne Taylor also represented Madison Mogen’s father, Benjamin Mogen and his wife, Korie Hatrock for misdemeanor drug charges.
Inside Edition reported:
The public defender representing Brian Kohberger previously worked with the father and stepmother of murder victim Madison Mogen.

In the early days of the republic, juries were not infrequently composed of members of both the plaintiff’s and defendant’s families, and such members had the social grace to rise to the occasion and render a just verdict based on the evidence.
But, in a woke society, such detachment is forbidden by the marxist/fascist wokesters of the legal bureaucracy.
It’s a common issue in small towns with low crime rates and limited legal resources.
Wow, what are the odds that she would have represented two of the victim’s parents?
I suspect drugs were at least part of the reason for the long delay in calling 911 in the Idaho murder. The surviving girls did not want police to find substances in the house.
For anyone who has ever lived in a small town this isn’t a surprise. No one is ever more than two degrees of separation from everyone else.
It’s the kind of thing, if found out after a trial, that gets a verdict thrown out. Regardless of how many prosecutors they have in the county, she should never have taken the case and disclosed the conflict of interest.
But the four PDs are in Moscow, ID which is about 90 miles south of the Coeur d’Alene / Post Falls area. The fifth PD was assigned to two of the parents cases far from Moscow and to the Moscow case.
I could agree with your argument if everybody lived in the same small town, but there are FIVE PDs to choose from and the different towns pretty far apart.
Exactly
I’m with you on that.
Small towns, yeah. But Latah County, Idaho is not short of lawyers. It’s home to University of Idaho law school. And part of the deal when one accepts a law license in Idaho is that you agree to accept trial appointments for indigents, etc. In other words, you agree to take your turn. But in many states it’s become fashionable for the corporate, estate, gummint, etc. specialties to cry poor mouth, claim they’re not qualified, and otherwise claim they can’t be bothered to take court appointments. It’s just lieing krap for the county to claim they are short of liars, err, I mean lawyers. But they’re not alone. We see this professional lazyassness all over the place——like doktors, maybe? for example.
This is clearly an issue. Also kind of weird that two of these kids had parents that were bad enough druggies they got busted for it. Didn’t see that coming. One, ok, but two?
And why does this guy have a public defender anyway? We’re supposed to believe he’s indigent?
I wouldn’t want to be on trial for my life with a conflicted PD as my attorney.
I would assume the PD informed the court of the possible conflict of interest as to fail to do so could be an ethics violation.
Lots of assumptions in my post but there were some major assumptions made in the original article.
There should be no conflict of interest here. She is a Public Defender.
Id agree
Conflict
Try biz law
It can be hard to find an attorney in small towns if they have represented someone local you’re battling
Like a bank
I think that is a real possibility.
It appears the victims were serious partiers and some embarrassing information is likely to be revealed in the trial. Casual drug use is probable and heavy drug use is possible.
“Regardless of how many prosecutors they have in the county, she should never have taken the case and disclosed the conflict of interest.”
She is not a prosecuted.
My bad, thinking “public defenders,” typed “prosecutors.”
