No DUmmie FUnnies for a week due to us going on a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean aboard the Celebrity Apex. Looking forward to this cruise especially the INCREDIBLE food and the premium drinks package as well as visiting Old San Juan and the beaches of the two British Virgin Islands, Tortola and St. Kitts.
PING!
Cruise ships are floating Petri dishes. You’ll come back with ear AIDS.
Report in when you get back. We’re looking for a good cruise.
When we checked Celebrity they wanted an outrageous deposit - NON-REFUNDABLE. Said “No thanks”.
Maybe you need to book your next cruise with the Steve Kane Radio Show group. Only a small ($100 per person) REFUNDABLE deposit. A birdie told me their 2024 cruise will be an 8 day Southern Caribbean cruise (ABC islands). As I mentioned we are also planning on a Mediterranean cruise in summer of 2024.
Thanks for the tip!! Will definitely check that out.
Have fun.
I had zero problems with my cruise a year ago.
Even diaper face issues were very very minimal.
Enjoy!
On my next visit to Curacao I am going to buy DOUBLE the number of Curacao Blue bottles as I did in September.
Best wishes for a thoroughly enjoyable cruise! As one who worked on a Royal Caribbean ship, the jewel, for 10 months, my number one recommendation is to become fiendishly obsessive about washing your hands any time you wander around the ship. Hourly, or better.
Celebrity has hand sanitation stations all over the ship, especially next to the restaurants.

Don’t blame you.
You can get cruises through celebrity where the deposits are refundable. Their website makes this difficult however. First, they tend to only show cruises in the immediate future within the non-refundable date, usually within 75 days. Then, if you do find the cruises outside this date, they first show you the non-refundable price with a small box to check if you want to have a refundable deposit at a slightly higher price. It’s like making a reservation at a hotel that shows non-refundable rates unless you select refundable. I gave up on Celebrity many years ago because of the dress codes.
Before you book any cruise, find a TA that gives great service and a discount on the fare. My TA discounts 8%. You won’t find that discount through the cruise lines or through the big travel agencies like expedia etc.
I am sure all the cruise lines have those at this point. They had them 15 years ago, when I was aboard ship. My point is, if you go three or four hours without eating something, wash your hands anyway. It will reduce the chances of your getting sick by almost 100%.
You old codgers and your shipboard key parties... ;-)
I’m taking along a pair of special Churchill Makapuu fins specifically for the body surfing. Hopefully the winter Atlantic waves will be high.
bttt
Aboard ship right now and already plunging into the buffet and the drinks.
