Rah Virginia Mil!
Mel Brooks is a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. When asked about it, Brooks said, “It was very noisy. I could hardly get any reading done.”
And: “I was a Combat Engineer. Isn’t that ridiculous? The two things I hate most in the world are combat and engineering.”
Gotta love Mel.
Bkmk
That’s an all star cast?
Out of that long list, the only two names I know are Danny DeVito and Seth Rogan. I only know of Rogan because of that movie he did mocking N. Korea. I never actually saw him in anything.
History of the World Part I was, at least, tied for the worst movie ever made. My wife and I walked out after about an hour and demanded our money back.
On the way out, walking up the aisle of the theater, I asked patrons on both sides of the aisle, “You aren’t really planning to watch the rest of this drivel, are you?”
There wasn’t any pushback in the theater. Not a soul asked me to stop interrupting the fare on the screen. It was that bad.
Oh hell yeah! I’m there. Been waiting for this for a long time LOL
Can’t wait!
Kudos to Brooks for being alive at his age, let alone doing something so ambitious. Good for him!
FINALLY. We might get to see the “Jews in Space.”
I loved the opening to To Be or Not to Be with Mel and Anne Bancroft singing and dancing to Sweet Georgia Brown in Polish. Too bad you have to have Hulu for this one.
Read later.
Geez, I’ve heard of three of the all star cast.
I have felt mel’s Humor to be sophomoric and meh.
Lowest hanging fruit of bathroom humor and sex jokes without much creativity
Mel’s batting average is about 500. Half his movies stink. The other half are hysterically funny, but that doesn’t help the rest in the least.
HOTW Part 1 was a stinker so I’ll wait to hear from competent reviewers before I even consider wasting time on this one.
"History of the World, Part I" was one of his finest films and I can't believe it took nearly a half century for the sequel.
"I present the 15... (drops one of the three tablets) 10 Commandments!
The mademoiselle Rimbaud famous role with boobs and “I just did it and I want to do it again” in that movie of lore is actress psychologist Pamela Stephenson from New Zealand
She is also the long time wife of one of worlds best comedians Billy Connolly of Scotland
Both of them are anti woke to their credit
No I did not know this till recently
Given how this forum is I’m sure somebody people will speak ill of Mel Brooks but I like him to fight for his country has a relatively small man and I believe he did see combat and he is funny funny as hell actually and he had a good marriage with Anne Bancroft who I also liked from of course the graduate with her stockings Lord she seemed so old and she was only 37 I think and Brooks much fun of Jews as much as anyone ever has besides maybe Don Rickles which says something in today’s Hollywood… balls
We kind of thought his movies in the 70s were silly and they were funnier when you were stoned and of course he made a lot of drug references but over the test of time he is and has been very funny
