Roger Stone: Nixon Tapes Reveal He Knew CIA ‘Involved In The Murder Of JFK’

Presidential campaign confidant and top Republican political operative Roger Stone says recently resurfaced tapes of 37th President Richard Nixon suggest that the former leader of the free world knew that the Central Intelligence Agency was involved in the assassination of 35th President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

The longtime Trump ally’s assertion came in response to a taped conversation between President Nixon and former CIA Director Robert Helms which took place around lunchtime on October 8, 1971, in which President Nixon stated:

“The whole ‘who shot John’ [JFK] thing, is Eisenhower to blame? Is Johnson to blame? Is Kennedy to blame? Is Nixon to blame? Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, may become, may become, not by me, but may become a very, very vigorous issue.”

Nixon continued, “If it does, uh, I need to know what is necessary to protect our inquiries, the intelligence gathering, and the ‘Dirty Tricks Department.’ And I will protect it. Hey listen, I’ve done more than my share of lying to protect it. I will go, I believe it’s totally right to do it.”

I'm not sure that this is proof that Nixon knew that the CIA was involved, but it does suggest that Nixon wouldn't hesitate to lie about it if he did know.

“Nixon knew” strikes me as a bit of a stretch.

Yes, more like a suspicion.

The CIA involvement is much easier to believe today than back then. Tabloids of that era used to scream about such suspicions, but their credibility has always been low.
I never connected Eisenhower with this assassination at all. I have always been suspicious of Lyndon Johnson.

This doesn’t suggest that Nixon “knew”. It suggests he thought it was more important to protect the intelligence agencies if there existed evidence that they were involved, and that he would do what was needed to shield them.

That has a lot of other implications, some of them bad for obvious reasons, but that doesn’t mean he knew, IMO.

Stones recent book. “The Man Who Killed Kennedy “ put the blame on LBJ. Interesting read.

Remember how we scoffed at Castro's constant claims that the USA was trying to assassinate him? Sometimes I wonder how much Ike knew about the U2 flights before the Gary Powers shoot down and if info was only spoon fed to him during the crisis.

WE, as a people, dependent upon a First Amendment and a "free press", know next to nothing.

I used to have a link to the gif or video - Jeb was his usual self

Once you realize that ""Watergate" was a master class in gaslighting and that the media of the day was NOT "leftist controlled" but "CIA/FBI/NSA controlled", then you have to wonder why Nixon REALLY resigned.

The coup in Dallas has never been reversed. We've been functionally under the same regime coming up on 60 years.

So why was Nixon in Dallas the morning JFK was assassinated?
With whom did he dine the night before?

To quote what a retired Dallas deputy sheriff, who'd been on duty in November of 1963, told me, "Oh, Johnson had him killed. Everybody knows that."

Roger Stone himself has written and lectured the same for years. The CIA was in the plot, but the ring leader and chief beneficiary was LBJ.

You can insert any politician’s name when it comes to lying, it is part of the job description. I don’t believe much of anything they say, the problem is when the pols start believing the lies that they tell, you see that every day.

They are mentally deficient in the first place, then they go play in an alternate society, no wonder we see the likes of Brandon and the newest member of the insane idiocracy…”Eyepatch Dan-John McCrenshaw!” The latter being one of the best examples of self destruction I have seen in many moons.

Until last week that reprobate WEF stooge Eyepatch McCrenshaw looked like he was going to be very difficult to excise from the ranks of the conservatives. I thought he was going to be another Albatross around the necks of genuine conservatives trying to advance the cause. Not now, he’s radioactive.

Now, it’s up to the good people of Texas 2nd Congressional District to purge this cancer as their representative in Congress. I hope after he’s gone from Congress, he seeks help for what ails him, he’s a real American warrior, and as a broken warrior we are responsible as a grateful society to repair.

Perhaps a tactical error - since whatever was in it seems to have rallied all of official Washington to band together to remove him from the Presidency.
