AI is all the rage at the show. Amazing things coming and being tested. Ranging from autonomous cars to farming!

I always have heard about it, read about it, but to see it being on display is incredible.

My only other thought is: All the jobs lost and how do we help these people in these sectors? It really feels like there is going to be a whole lot of people left out of this leap forward.

Oh, one other thought too. Gates buying up that farmland, do you think he is looking at these AI farm equipment? The farmer become the robot technician...?

Currently, the fertility is below replacement among those native born. Which means OFs as a section of the population is growing. Almost as bad as Japan.

This is the other side of the so-called population bomb and the baby boom.

I suggest that first we find jobs for all of the farmers, harness makers, blacksmith and horse traders that lost their jobs in the early 1900’s.

Then create a federal fund to support all of those whose jobs went to China, Indonesia, etc. over the last 20 years.

Or we could return to a truly capitalistic economy and let them work it out for themselves, which actually did happen with the arrival of the reliable automobile.

Progress destroys some jobs but history shows that it creates others almost immediately.

CES...but who are the consumers? Most of what I saw in that video was not targeted to the average employed "consumer". High end toys purchased by the wealthy and corporations. I used to attend ComDEX to see the latest offerings in the computer space. It was all aimed at the average consumer or small business. As a potential "dealer" for those products, there was lots of new opportunities with new products aimed at viable markets. I'm not see much of that in the CES video.

The attack on nitrogen is aimed at nitrates that get incorporated into amino acids. It's an attack on FOOD. The attack on CO2 is a stealth attack on carbon based energy that is cheap and reliable. It is a stealth attack on western civilization that thrives on cheap energy.
