CBS took a page out of the movie script from Ron Howard’s Inferno (2016) and gave airtime to the widely-debunked, overpopulation-obsessed Paul Ehrlich to stoke new conniptions over extinction.
Ehrlich decried population “growth mania” during the New Year’s Day edition of CBS’s 60 Minutes. CBS News correspondent Scott Pelley arbitrarily praised Ehrlich’s doomsday-predicting chops: “At the age of 90, biologist Paul Ehrlich may have lived long enough to see some of his dire prophecies come true.” In his 1968 book Population Bomb, Ehrlich predicted a population-led climate oblivion in the 1970s that never materialized, an Armageddon scenario that he still continues to push decades later. “Humanity is not sustainable to maintain our lifestyle — yours and mine — basically for the entire planet. You’ll need five more earths — not clear where they’re going to come from.”

This has been a SeeBS Production
Most people become obsessed about whatever hustle pays their bills.
What’s a Sixty Minutes?
I read that book over a half century ago, and we’re still here.
Is Leslie Stahl still in denial about Hunter’s laptop?
That is how "overpopulated" we are.
This is their basis for killing off millions via bogus scare mongering schemes via “health care”, “climate change”, etc.
pfffft population bomb... very few understand how insignificant we really are. Go for a walk in an ice storm, fall into an cold body of water... fall down and break a leg out in the woods.
Life is fragile, humans are too proud to admit it.
One tiny cosmological fart would put a stop to just about everything we are familiar with.
I have to confess that I actually bought into Ehrlich’s BS when it first came out. The simple truth is that absolutely nothing that he predicted happened. He needs to be retired to an elder care center.
Malthus was wrong in 1799.
Ehrlich was wrong in 1968
But how much land is needed to feed all those people?
You can stack people in cage like apartments to reach the sky but you still need ariable farmland to feed them.
Each year thousands of acres of farmland are turned into suburbs, making less food for rising populations.
They fail to take into account human ingenuity.
In the next 10-20 years clean energy + vertical farming will produce as much food as needed.
If were allowed that is.
We were told to read The Population Bomb in college. It was a big deal. We believed it. Now I use my copy to show the grandkids that “experts”like this are wrong more often than not. And now that I’m in my 70s I think these putrid people wanted to tear down Western Civilization ……just as much as they do today.
Under socialism two people is overpopulation.
Soylent Green will always be available to solve any population issues....and with “democracy” the two wolves and the sheep get to vote over who is for dinner!
But as long as the sheep have arms, dinner will not include lamb chops!
I’d bet there’s few that know who the Rosenbergs were and most born after1960 are commies/antifa who think they were innocent.
You gotta love that line. I use it all the time.
