Where was Aaron Zapruder? Standing on a concrete wing extending out from the steps right next to the grassy knoll. A gun shooting over the fence would have been at his feet level of shot over the fence, and have been about 15 feet to the right. Zapruder was a former army person and he would have seen that person, looking down from above. And he would have heard that shot. The clincher is??? The Zapruder film ends with a look behind the fence and it shows? Nothing there. I say that is not a place where a shot came from. And the people right in front of the fence, within 10 to 15 feet, would have reported that shot if from right behind. They did not.
A driver pulled out the gun? Photos show him with his hands on the wheel.
JFK was behind the coup, that had the ruler of South Vietnam overthrown and killed in Nov 1963.
What motivates much of the conspiracy theorizing is not so much evidence, but the notion that a pathetic nonentity could not have taken out America’s greatest president and changed the course of American history. He just had to have been a victim of conspiracy involving powerful people.
If someone presents hard and credible evidence that JFK was a victim of a conspiracy and that Oswald was innocent, then I will believe it. But so far, after half a century, none of the conspiracy mongers have even come up with the name of the Real Killer.

The 17th Amendment destroyed the republic more fully than even the 16th. It completely altered the basis of federalism.
At the birth of the nation, people’s ‘country’ was there the state they domiciled in. They were citizen’s of their state.
Until the 14th amendment.
The 14th created the notion, out of thin air, of an American citizen. Hence, The People were citizens of BOTH their state they reside in, and the nation as a whole.
The 14th had a role to play, as you state the 17th and 16th did.
Then there is the fact that everyone involved in the coverup got big-time promotions.
LBJ went from a vice-president under congressional criminal investigation to a president who would win the biggest re-election landslide since FDR in 1936.
Dan Rather and Bob Scheiffer went from being minor players on a Dallas network affiliate to national newsroom anchors.
Arlen Specter went from being a minor player in a Philadelphia law firm who represented such wonderful defendants as Ira Einhorn to a U.S. Senate seat.
J. Edgar Hoover went from being head of an FBI about to be ousted for his homosexuality to holding the position for the remainder of his life.
Gerald R. Ford went from being a minor congressman from Michigan's 5th district to becoming the first appointed President in U.S. history.
I could go on, but you get the idea. Those who cooperate with the Deep State are richly rewarded.

His “patsy” claim strikes me, again, as somebody who hadn’t thought the mission through beyond “hit the target”...like he was slowly (if subconsciously) realizing that nobody was coming to rescue him, and he was now in a whole world of sh*t.

Beyond the issue that the assassination of a standing President by somebody with ties (however one-sided) to Communism, the Soviet Union, and Castro’s Cuba would, if known, likely have had the American populace clamoring for war (which the ruling class obviously did not want, at least not outside their own terms)....
What could frighten the ruling class (indeed any rulers) more than the notion, among the broad populace, that one person acting on their own could have such an enormous impact on their masters? It simply *had* to have been a grand conspiracy, far beyond the grasp or reach of any commoner....
For me personally, after reading every post, all I can say is that this country was one thing before the JFK assassination and a different place after. I was nine years old in 1963 and had personally seen JFK in August of 1963. Reading all of these post is giving me PTSD.

You’re discounting a few things for n Abraham Zapruder’s film, many of the people near him pointed to the Grassy Knoll, multiple shots rang out in and around buildings echoing the noise confusing many on the location of the shooter and the shooter could have been using a suppressor
Is suggesting a shot from the Grassy Knoll killed JFK any more crazy than suggesting a lone gunman figured out how to get into the school book depository building with a rifle, take multiple shots killing JFK, escaping the building only to be caught in a different location later that day, then another lone gunman sneaks into police hq with a gun and kills Oswald on live TV

And bullet fragments found inside the front windshield have the same metal content as the box of bullets left behind by Oswald in the sniper’s perch.
