Ukraine-Lights Out, No Water And Soon No Heat

Earlier today the Russian military shut down the Ukrainian electricity network.

Previous attacks had limited the distribution capacity to some 50% of demand. Controlled blackouts over several hours per day allowed to give electricity for a few hours to most parts of the country. The attack today created a much larger problem. Not only were distribution networks attacked but also the elements that connect Ukraine's electricity production facilities to the distribution network. All four nuclear power stations of Ukraine with their 15 reactors are now in shutdown mode.

Kiev along with most other cities of Ukraine no longer has electricity.

Moldova is likewise affected as it received some 20% of its electricity from Ukraine. When the Ukrainian network shut down the only local thermal power plant shut down too. It is likely that it can be switched on again but that can be a complicated process.

Limited electricity imports from the European system into Ukraine may still be possible but that electricity would only be available in Ukraine's western cities...

Good to know you regard the founding documents of this land as un-American.

We’re willing yo take a few million Ukrainian refugees. We did so in March and will do it again.

Why?

Because these are women and children, this is Christian to do so.

Because the Ukrainians are fighting for their homes and loved ones against the invader.

Because we know that if Putin gets away with it today, he will come back for more.

Furthermore, irredentist claims would cause us fighting over every square inch as that hoch may have belonged at different times to different nations.

Ukraine won, past tense, in march 2022 by surviving and not becoming a vassal state like Lukashenko Belarus.

It will push you Russians to examine your imperialist mindset as you get defeated by a nation you looked down upon.

The women and children will be welcome to come back again to Poland and Romania etc to survive the winter.

Their men will fight for their homes and loved ones against the invader

Well it is a fraction of the Pentagon 750 billion budget. And it goes as surplus equipment etc from American manufacturers, boosting American jobs.

At the same time Putin’s ability to militarily attack American interests is gone.
And Xi gets a warning shot across the bow to not do any military adventures.

And finally, we get to test our weapons and tactics in a real world scenario

“Russia is winning in every way”

700,000 young Russian men left Russia since September, adding to the million who left before.

Russias primary export of military stuff is now ended as the world sees their uselessness.

Russia has lost nillikns in the war and thousands of soldiers.

Russia has lost too much, due to Putin’s ego

How does attacking the civilian population in Kyiv win the war on the battlefield (which Russia is objectively losing) insomuch that it does not impact the movement or supply of troops at all?

Get real. Ā  If a country does not control its on resources and infrastructure it is not winning anything. Ā  In war that is called attrition.

Do you have a checklist of talking points to post after?

How many left last year? How many returned?

What exactly has ended? What sort ofbuselessness you are talking about and who except you is seeing it?

Putinists. Ā  So funny.

More like anti-New World Order, anti-Great Reset, and anti-stakeholder capitalism of Klaus Schwab's ā€” World Economic Forum ā€” Young Global LeadersĀ®, along with the vile corruption of Ukraine, Zelenskyy, President Biden, Lindsey Graham, and all of the rest of the uni-party minions that embrace and support the whole thing. Ā  Present Putin is just in their way.

Same here. More Ukrainian mothers and children are coming here, after a summer when many adults went back.

Thing to remember is Russian mouthpieces in Russia keep going on Russian media to explain why they’re doing what they’re doing and why... But they can’t get their stories straight.

Recently they’ve settled on, creating an unsupportable wave of refugees into Europe, hoping that that the EU’ll either go bankrupt or just cave in and let Putin take any eastern European country he likes without getting in the way.

As for throttling the supply of natural resources, and turning the heating off, in support of that strategy. How original. They were doing the same thing 12 years ago. Before Maidan. Russia messing with Eastern Europe’s energy and gas supplies has been a thing since Putin put the top on his president-pm-president sandwich.

Of course us Freepers in Europe and the UK can’t expect American Freepers to know about that; it didn’t affect them at all and there were far bigger domestic issues to discuss.

It’s why the then Polish leader told Ukraine in 2008, what happens to Georgia is coming to Ukraine and the Baltic if Putin gets his way. And here we are. Conservatives in the UK pegged Poland as being far more in tune with reality on that topic than France and Germany.

Irredentism can’t be allowed to stand in the modern era. It’s why Thatcher fought the Falklands War to defend the legitimate population from Argentine chancers, why Bush Snr was right to do the same to the baathist chancers invading Kuwait, and it’s right to support Ukraine.

Itā€™s okay. Putin is dead again and Russia is out of missiles again.

And let's not forget that the Russian Army is hours from collapse and those recently drafted have been throwing themselves off of cliffs by the thousands.

I've seen few things more ridiculous and obvious than the leftist/globalist/RINO filth's pro-Ukraine, anti-Russia propaganda. It's just stupid now.

Exactly - Putin has played out that gameplay.

It don't work anymore as we know Russia under Putin is not to be trusted

I ask you for the 100th time. Before it has all started you claimed that Putin is the only thing holding Russia together. Now, you claim that Putin destroys Russia’s future. Which propaganda like is true?:)

Irredentist statements have no meaning when a German can live, work and get residency in Wrocław / Breslau

Incidentally, Breslau/Wrocław was first founded by the Czechs and they controlled it for the longest time as Vratislava. And the Austrians also controlled it and of course there was a big Jewish presence for much of that time

If we go with "we had a historical claim", who would get it? It's insane - far better to recognize the shared history and let people live and share

I didn’t claim that “Putin is the only thing holding Russia together” — you are lying.

I did say that Putin is the reason the war is continuing.

That is also related to the fact that Putin is destroying, nay has destroyed Russia’s future.

Re: Putin having destroyed Russia’s future

Russia attempted to adopt the rule of law and democracy, but Putin jailed, poisoned, shot, and killed opponents, corrupted the judiciary, made the State Duma a lap dog, and staged elections.

Russian courts, both civil and criminal, are a mess at best and a farce at worst.

Thereā€™s still an awful lot of corruption and Putin promised to get rid of it but has actually compounded it. That was one of his main promises first time he ran for actual election.

A lot of opportunities have been missed to expand Russian tech industries in good part because of the byzantine system for getting things done in Russia

The ā€œbrain drainā€. Many smart, capable, young Russiansā€”especially scientists and tech peopleā€”are leaving and itā€™s a real issue.
